Still hollowing out the cockpit and cutting doors and windows. I'm going to cut the front cockpit section out for access....the rear section is another story. I don't know how I'm going to mock up those ne-cells...the Chinook would be much easier to make on the bottom part. Less curves. I HATE CURVES....lol....

Had to build the floor in 2 parts...
this is very hard to do as there are multiple angles at once to copy...
seats and the legs are to tall...
shortend the legs and added amoured plating to the sides....

cut out of the pattern...I highly recomend you do this cause it save styrene in the long run...

You're making me look bad for when I finally do mine. What color are you planning on painting it? Sorry if you already said, I just look at pictures, don't read. I would like to see this-

I remeber now, back in the early 80s. Cobra chinook. Ha. Actually Falcone I'm still in the air about it. The original toy was moulded after the CH-46, although it will only take 2 major mods to make it a chinook 1. the obvious one with the fuel cells. 2. the two engines on the side. The bottom is fairly straight forward however where the engines mount will be very hard to cut those out and replace....but can be done. Mabey when I'm ready I get you guys to vote on which it should be.
Finished the dash n stuff for the cockpit, I'm gonna finish it last as there are many other little things that need to be added....

I could never do that sir...I also have a PTE Blackhawk and I want to do what you've done and a little more.
watch this thread closly cause I will show you that you can do it, it may take time, but with all good things come patients. These are not the easiest toys to convert but they are unique when done. Once you make you're first cut it gets easier and just take you're time.

Nice! I'd thought of sculpting some epoxy putty for the rear landing gear sponsons, because I always have trouble working with styrene.

I've got to follow this. Awesome work so far, reminds me of the 1/6th scale Chinook I built many years ago.
Cut the roof out for access....primer-filler to light the way a little better...this is gonna look good when its done....
