Thanks Maritime !!
Got here up on her feet !! Lots of work for these small steps. I almost have the gear ready to ship to get them casted in metal.
Rotor update . I made a skeleton of the rotor hub out of brass and used some kind of JB type epoxy to hold it together . Failer I am...
Thanks Guys
Moving right along I have mounted the front gear. It will have to function because the wheel and strut are visable when retracted.
The main gear will be plug and play and will be static.
Thanks Eddie and guys .
Does anybody know when were and at what time the Russians started and stopped using the Russian star on the belly of the Hind ?
5 days working on the wing stbs and I am not done yet. Probably another 2 or 3 and I will have them wrapped up.
Next I will start working on the landing gear.
Setting the anhedral .
I have been working on the winglets ALL WEEK LONG and am still not finished .
The leading edge of the winglet is a week spot so I do not think that I can make a secondary access door there . But I think that I have it worked out.
I plan to make the turtle deck removable so you can have...
I went way cheap . He supplied the 21st Sherman and gun mount.
I made the shield , custom fit the gun to the Sherman deck made the rear ammo frame and extra cans and gave it a custom paint
$200 plus shipping.
I should have charged at least $300
Thanks guys !!
Long time collector Kerry has been wanting me to do this custom for about 3 years now. So I finally bucked up and got it out to him .
He wanted it heavy on the weathering but I just do NOT like caked on mud on my wheels and tracks so this is the results .
I am quite happy with the way it...
While things are being worked on I was going to take the decal sheet down to my local printer to see if stencils can be made as an option other than decals .
The decals that were made for my Horten were fantastic but a heavy price was paid for them.
I was thinking of having the stencils...
quote="pvanroy"]I'm all in favor of keeping everything as close to scale as possible - I like to have an accurate scale model. The troop compartment is really cramped - just have a look at the photograph here: Photos Rodina Mat Kiev . However, I understand other people want to use the model...
the pincher thing is called a travel lock. The cannon tube was lowered into the jaws with a pronounce downward tilt to the tube.
When in combat the travel lock laid back against the glacias and the turret was free to turn.
Man it looks sweet !!
You are the first one on the planet to have a 1/18th scale Sherman with duckbill tracks .
Add to that the first one on the planet to have a built JUMBO Sherman .
Mark this day on the calendar gentlemen !!!
Yes the planet

In this pic you can actually see how small this door is .
What I cam do is make the clam shell door the correct size and make another door ( one piece )next to it so that you can have the full cabin accessible.
The end of the cabin is just to the left of the 2 windows.
I will have to...
Here is the scale height of the bench seat . It has been said that there are things wrong with Trumpeters Hind kit . The crew cabin is one of them.
The short bench seat .
I raised the height of the bench seat to the same height as the Pavehawk seat .
There is also another issue .
The side cargo / troop doors scale out to about 68 mm about 2-5/8th of an inch .
That is small my hand measure about 4 inches across across the knuckles . If I build the doors to scale there is no way to get your hand in the to play around .
Again make it...
You can always get one for yourself !!!
I am working on the troop compartment now of the Hind and according to my measurements the total height to scale is about 4.31 feet that is about 51 inches .
Jeez that is tiny .
The Pave hawk scales out to about 5 feet in height about a foot...
