I've been casting slot car tires of late. The Simpact 60a has been working well for an open sided tire mould. I've tried it in some of my other closed moulds and it has not worked as well. Air seems to get trapped very easily causing imperfections.
I was hoping one of the more experienced castors might be able to help out. I'm getting small random air bubbles in my casts. I've been using a syringe to inject the 305 into my molds. I do have an inlet and outlet for air. If I flow more product through the mold instead of just filling it, will...
Looks good so far! You're going to damage the airframe lifting up like that with chains! There's three jack points on the Hughes/MD/Boeing airframe. At the base of the tail boom and at the rear flight step mounts.
I really wanted to modify some of the ARW helmets and heads so I went ahead and bought a bunch of casting stuff. I'm fairly pleased with the results. There were some casting anomalies which I turned into battle weathering or damage with painting. My pictures are crap...
