1:16 Scale Guns?

Does anyone know how 1:16 scaled guns work with 1:18?

You may get the odd combination of figure and firearm that's passable, but on the whole things will look off.

I'm in the course of producing military equipment. I prototyped 1:16 versus 1:18 since scale modelers will use 1:16. Whilst some people have had success mixing 1:18 figures with 1:16 vehicles, that's where the ability to mix and match stops. 1:16 individual equipment is noticeably too big.
