I thought I'd asked this before here, but can't find a post so here's the question anyway - is there a source of such things? The sorts of thing I mean are matchlock, flintlock & wheellock firearms, epees, swords, daggers, and such...

I am working on some Three Musketeer/ Cardinals Blades type figures using Schleich, Bully, Lord of the Rings/Hobbit etc orginals.

Also, can anyone suggest any other possible source of suitable figures for the period?

This is all to tie into our 'Mordheim' (Games Workshop) set-up. I confess to have been inspired by the Cardinal's Blade trilogy by Pierre Pevel, despite the inclusion of some majik and even dragons.

Thanks for any help anyone can give.

About all you're gonna find for 18th century weapons are the various 3.75" Pirates of the Caribbean (first by Zizzle, then by Jakks Pacific) and Chap Mei pirate lines. Granted, some of those On Stranger Tides cutlasses and sabers are only a new blade away from serving.

The Irina Spalko and one of the Mutt Williams figures from the Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull line came with rapiers that you may be able to retrofit to a more 18th century-correct style. The Thor: The Dark World Loki comes with a dagger that might be useful as an off-hand weapon.

Thanks for these ideas. I had forgotten about POTC - and they don't seem to be about much now of course! I have some of the 1/32nd scale figures and there is even a 4 barrel Duck's Foot pistol... did they do that in 1/18th I wonder?

Not that I recall. Any of the Jakks figures that came with a pistol came with the same flintlock.

Unimax Assassin Creed figures had some swords. Not sure if they had pistols or not.

Playmobile made flintlock pistols too. Not sure how good the scale is.

I forgot about those AC figures. Cesare comes with a pistol, but it's one of those fruity fantasy designs.

Unimax?

Didn't have the license, did they? McFarlane did, and now NECA has it.

A Joe figure from recent years, or should I say a dreadnok named zansisumthing or another had a realistic pirate pistol and cutlass. I bought one for a custom I was working on. His boots even look kind of piratety.

I just rechecked and the name is Zanzibar.
