So... picked up my 1st 30th fig the other day & if any of U guys R familiar w/ my work or my methods - I've said it many times B4... no figure is safe or sacred around me... I started kitbashin' as soon as I opened it & sat down @ my workbench - the concept for this guy is a group of specialized Vipers (T.A.C. = Tactical Assault Commando) who would B attached 2 Firefly squads - in a fire team supportive role... they have X-trainin' as Alley Vipers & Range Vipers w/ some demolitions thrown in the mix...

RECIPE =

Base Fig : 30th Cobra Trooper
Head : PoC Jungle Viper w/ Bravo Team "Delta" styled helmet
Lower Legs : 25th Crimson Guard (I love the "jackboot" look)
Feet : Captain America (Target comic 2-pk. w/ Crossbones)
Gear : Vest = RoC Duke w/ front holster/pistol & rear packs added from fodder bins --- Belt = 30th Cobra Trooper cut from webgear
Weapons : 30th Cobra Trooper pistol & silencer --- modded MP45 from Bravo Team
Paint : Testors Model Master acrylics - German Uniform Feldgrau, Flat Black, Silver, Gloss Red & clear red acrylic gel paint (over silver) on the goggle lenses --- I wanted a paint scheme that was evocative of WW II Nazi troops...

I like this. The red on the face kind of stands out a bit much for my taste but considering how much the rest of the figure kicks ass I can look past it. I really dig the boots on it. Gives it a "I'm going to storm in and kill you mother f$#ker" look. I could almost see this using a Range Viper mask for intimidation. Either way, I like what you did with it. Looks tactical and has function.

Thanks 4 all the supportive comments & the honest critiques... it is a simple recipe & I have an extended plan in the works 2 flesh out some more of these guys for a complete "fire team" along w/ a couple Firefly customs & a couple vehicle customs (w/ specialized Viper drivers for this unit) - @ least 1 diorama - along w/ a "fan fiction" short story (War Journal style) to REALLY round out this new breed of Vipers... so all in all, I will probably troop build 4 T.A.C. Vipers (each slightly different - 2 Firefly customs - 2 Viper drivers - an armored Zodiac patrol boat - an off-road truck - a GOOD sized dio & have a short story 2 put it all in perspective & give it some substance...

I'd like to see a team shot with POC Fire Fly in the middle with his alein helmet and a couple of these gys flanking him on each side.

Actually developin' an 8 man team - long term project - storyline / figs / vehicles / dio etc.

2 Fireflys (Major & Lieutenant)
2 T.A.C. Vipers (1 would be Heavy Gun)
1 T.A.C. TeleViper (Comm/Support Fire)
1 T.A.C. MediViper (Medic/Support Fire)
2 T.A.D. Vipers (Drivers/Support Fire)

My "working" designation for this unit is THE BROOD...

I dig it, might borrow the concept/look of the figure for something of my own later down the road (not Cobra).

And I like the red details on the face, it's an action figure, they need a bit of pop visually. Realism be damned.
