I remember seeing a picture before of the one w/ the 30mm. Very cool.

A rocket pod for AA? Never seen rockets used against aircraft before.

Ha! always thought those were considered missiles since they were "guided". I was thinking more like unguided rockets like in the pod above.

Huh, yeah I only saw the top pic with the stingers.

LAV fitted with an electric turret mounting a General Dynamics GAU-12 Equalizer 25 mm (0.984 in) 5-barreled Gatling cannon, and two missile pods each with 4× FIM-92 Stinger missiles for Short Range Air Defense (SHORAD) duties. Capacity for 990 rounds of 25 mm ammunition, and 16 (including 8 reload rounds) FIM-92 Stinger missiles. This variant has been removed from service. A variant using the Mistral missile in place of Stingers was developed for the export market.

The other one with what looks like a helo rocket pod is odd. Not sure what that is.

We test fired them from the LAV-AD, while I was with FMC. For the standard Hydra's the Dispersion Pattern was way to large, +/- 150 meters @ 1,000 meters range. For general use, the cost of the APKWS may not be worth the Target Effects results. Jake

Looks like it was a specialized test model?

Yeah, I thought the M261 rocket pod was a very 3rd-world set up.

I wish I hadn't sold all mine off. At the time I was ANGRY because it didn't match the 21st desert scheme.. long before I figured I could paint and customize lol

I'm still pissed I didn't buy them when they were less than $20 each at TRU.
