I figured this guy deserved his own thread now, since all that's left really is a bit of paint, and to finish his boat, the Cottonmouth.

So.. Cobra Naval Captain, Pirate, and part-time Dreadnok. (Now that I've done this I'm kinda wanting to do the rest of his crew. Damn you, KT.)

He just needs a touch of red on the inside of the jacket flap, and gray on that small section of the lower torso.

Torso, arms, coat 'skirt': Renegades CC
Legs: ROC Destro
Head: MU Kraven
Sword, flintlock: Dreadnok 7-pack Zanzibar

C&C Welcome!

And if you don't know who Don Karnage is, shame on you.

The name was familiar...but I had to look it up.

Awesome conversion. I always have ideas like this but never follow through on it.

I think I'm just going to fashion a loop in his belt, since ole Don actually had a loop at the hem of his jacket where he'd put his sword. IIRC. Otherwise, my options are pretty limited. Although, I might pick up another PotC figure for their sword belt.

I was gonna mention a PotC baldric, but I think a loop at the belt has a simple, understated look to it.

I know it's a little dark, had to use my phone:

Took the red ninja sash and cut off the top part and then folded a small section of THAT over, and cut and glued it to the rest of the sash.

S.E. Mich :(
The only thing I'd do is paint the jacket a different color, even if it's just a different shade of blue...it's just too "CC" as is...

Aside from that, it looks really good...

Good thing I'm not you! ;) But seriously, just trying to keep the painting to a minimum. I'm not good at it with regards to figures.

The blue is SO close to the cartoon color anyway, I just don't want to risk it.

And I'm thinking of adding Ratchet and Dumptruck to the list now. Goddammit, KT!

Already got Ren. Tunnel Rat and the canceled JP tattooed guy for their bases. Hah!

So what are you going to do for Baloo, and the Seaduck? I'd LOVE to see a Seaduck in 1:18 scale.

The cartoon version has sleeves that end in flared cuffs with a bit of gold trim. Think I should try and sculpt those, or leave them with the sleeves as they are?

I say add them. Like Eddie mentioned, the torso is distracting cuz you think of cc right away. The cuffs would help with that IMO.

See, I guess I just don't get that comment. I've never really seen Cobra Commander in this torso. But then, I really didn't appreciate many of the Renegades designs, if any.

Either way, I've got my apoxy out and I'll make a few practice cuffs while I work on my updated Wild Weasel helmet and see what I can come up with.

I'm not saying it looks bad, I'm just so used to that torso as CC. I assume Eddie feels the same way based on his coment. Looking forward to seeing the cuffs

I know it's a cellphone pic and it's a bad one, sorry!

Captain Karnage, with cuffed sleeves:

Cuffs from Vortious. There's some boot cuffs too.. debating on whether or not to add them as well.

Know your Meme!

I don't think cuffs on the boots would hurt, honestly.

Unfortunately, the boot cuffs split irreparably so I'm going to have to order another set and be a hell of a lot more careful. >_<

And I know the me gusta face. Just was making sure it applied to the boot cuffs as well. ;)

Second attempt with the boot cuffs was worse than the first. This isn't a criticism of Vortious' work, by the way. They simply aren't designed for what I'm trying to do. Not in the material he uses for the flexible stuff, anyway. I think I'd have better luck with non-flex cuffs. Either way, now I need a new ROC Destro lower leg (shin, knee and shin in case anyone wants to donate), because to try and keep the cuff from splitting, I put a thin layer of glue on the upper portion of the boot. It was fine for 5 minutes, and still split. But, upon removing the cuff from the boot, it left some pieces permanently attached to the plastic, and glue residue where the cuff didn't adhere completely. So, I'm going to omit the idea entirely, or wait to see if Vortious does them in a more rigid fashion. The rubberized stuff is great until it splits.

I know I have the legs and feet, not sure if I used the knees. Let me check.

Between the parts I have a full one. I just need to pop the Absorbing Man foot off the one and put the boot back on it.
