Please forgive me gentlemen, as I don't know whom to ask this question. Is there anyone or site, besides the one's you've already posted on this site, that will sell or trade for helmets, goggles, and helmet coms or coms period? I have orderd quite a few from tofujesse a while ago and he has'nt come thru for me yet and who knows when. Is there anyone else?

My recommendation is to learn to do it yourself. Ultimately the only real way to ensure you get what you need.
I taught myself and I'll tell you its not hard, anyone that says otherwise just doesnt want you to know. True it takes a little cash to start up $100-150), building a pressure pot and vac chamber. Or if your rescourceful less than that. I think my total initial costs was maybe $60 and the other issue is sourcing out a local supplier for the material or ordering direct from smooth on.
you can get starter kits for the mold rubber and resin for $30/ kit. Which gives you about 20-30 molds and 50 or so casts. Just my estimation from my personal expierence. Theres tons of useful tutorials out there and I'm more than happy to answerr any questions that I can.

We should (if we don't already) have a nice tutorial for our members on starting up your own small casting setup.

I know it'd be useful to a few people (myself included). More geared toward people who just want to copy a few of their own items, not starting up a shop.

Starwarsgeek posted a series of youtube video tutorials http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dukFz-3CB-0

probably the best tutorial I've seen done. (sorry I couldnt find the 1st vid in the series)

The whole reason I learnt was because I was sick and tired of being fucked over by the other casters out there, plus I had some Krexx sculpts I needed cast ( before I got involved with DW at the AngelForge that is) I was surprised after the initial 1st couple of runs just how easy it is.

Casters in general are notoriously bad for getting product out in a timely manner.. no matter who it is.

I'd be nice if we had someone in house to do this for us :)

Excuse me, but I take offense to that. I get 99% of my orders out within 24 hours. Sure, from time to time I do run out of things, and an order gets delayed. And I do have several items that 'made-to-order' that take a few days to get done. But I keep stock on 99.9% of my products that are in my store, and I ship as many orders as I can within 24 hours. Some even ship the same day if it's ordered early enough.

LOL well that's fine. I've honestly never heard of you before seeing the video linked above.. so your track record wasn't being accounted for. By your admission you seem like a stand up guy.. but again, what do you sell? (Honestly, never looked at your stuff before).

I was referring to the big 3.. Tofu, Aly, and previously SlayerDave..

your one of the exceptions to the rule SWG, but in general and my personal expierence
I'd have agree with NSA. Most online casters have well documented issues that reflect poorly (and perhaps unfairly) on the whole

I agree. But that's why I try to do things differently. And to be lumped in with people who take money and don't deliver just pisses me off.

Don't get me wrong - I have a project that people have been waiting on for a while, some Death Star Consoles. Yes, I got paid for some sets dating back to November, and have not shipped those yet. But they were listed as a pre-order on my store site, and to be honest I was not ready to list them yet but my partner in that venture was pretty insistent on them being listed, so I put them up.

As for what I sell, I was carrying old SDS product for a while through my agreement with TheAngelforge, but he has since asked me to remove it all. So I'm down to some Hasbro and other company recasts, along with a (growing) selection of 1:12 Marvel Legends and DCUC items.

I just got my hands on some Hydroshrink and Hydrospan so I'll be experimenting with that soon enough.

Not through my store I do not, no. But I have often shipped items to people on the forums outside of my store. The reason I don't ship outside the US is that PayPal is stupid with International shipping, and it's too easy to get free stuff if you know the loopholes, which too many people do. Not saying you are one of them or that you would do that, but after having it happen I don't take that chance any more. If you want to order stuff from my store, feel free to hit me up in a PM.

I do have several new helmets, as well as some goggles and a com set that TR1ER/Marauder Ruben just sent me that I'll be adding very soon, hopefully.

OK I know that sarcasm doesn't always translate well over the internet, but... yeah, there's not really a way to 'legally' get free stuff.

According to PayPal, I am responsible for a package until it reaches the customer. If that customer has any issue with an item not arriving, I need to provide tracking information for that package. Unfortunately, when dealing with any items leaving the USA, the only form of tracking that PayPal will accept is USPS International Express Mail. This delivery service starts at $43.

I think that $43 is an outrageous amount of money for someone to have to pay to get some items shipped. But, sadly, I experienced first hand that there are people out there that know about this restriction and use it as a “loopholeâ€￾ to get free merchandise. I have shipped many, many items outside the US via ‘untrackable’ methods to friends and trusted associates and have never had any problems. Yet, when I shipped items to eBay customers without tracking, they mysteriously disappeared every time. So, I no longer ship items outside the US through my store.

So I don't think you want to start stealing stuff from people... or do you?

...mmmm....well I sure did'nt start this thread to piss people off...I can honestly say that I smoke to much pot cause I did'nt understand a fucking word you just said. $43...I've also paid $8 and free shipping from China with tracking...never mind don't explain I don't want to offend, or did I 'steal stuff' ...however you don't seem to mind with your tone. Is this also how you conduct yourself with transactions? (note the tone). One potential customer...gone.

SWG was simply explaining things from his experiences, AND he offered to try to help you through PMs.

So yeah, maybe you should go back to smoking your weed.

I just don't think he quite understood what SWG was saying, and took it as SWG saying all international buyers are stealing things.. kinda like someone saying all casters are slow

Digler, what SWG is saying, is there are loopholes in the tracking methods for paypal when it comes to shipping international.

So, someone can get something, and it's not scanned, so they say they didn't get it, when paypal looking into it, it shows they didn't get it, and they refund the money to those people. That's what SWG was trying to say.

He's had that happen, so he doesn't like to send international through ebay/his store.

But he has in the past, worked things out with message board members and friends through PMs, and has sent to them no problem.

Hope that helps clear things up.

...fine....I just wanted to play with you guys and I'm not a thief...you don't scare me shinobi

Wow... talk about "not understanding a fucking word you said".

I don't scare you? Really? Did you take what I said as a threat of some kind? If so, I will say again that maybe you should just stick to puffing your dragon. It obviously has some great side effects, like paranoia.

Have a nice day. :D

The Ebay/paypal garbage is why I backed out of selling my customs. I think it's better to sell plasma anyways.
