... or so they say.

You guys should already know that I'm no stranger to producing clothes for my Ninja figs. This project was an inevitable addition since I've wanted to do it for quite some time now, plus being inspired by RusForce to get off my ass.

This guy isn't finished by any means, but this is what I came up with in the last 2 days. The outfit needs more detail, and a little more fitment tweaking, but I think it's going in the right direction.

Base body -

Early basic pattern test fitting -

Preliminary fitting with some gear -

UPDATE: 10/24 - Fine tuning the jacket

Since 99.9% of any custom figs I make wearing this will also be wearing a vest, my question to you guys is -

Should I bother putting pockets on the front of the jacket?

Nice, funny when you think that this soldier is wearing his luck spiderman underoos.

Underoos. Now that takes me back. Spidey, Darth Vader, Batman... I had them.

Fabric is bandana , and dyed for now. Keep in mind this is only a test run for the outfit, while I finesse the pattern and fit.
It will look a lot different once it's tweaked, and after I load the guy with more gear.

Thanks, you're too kind though. I modded the Spidey torso so the arms had much more inside range, as well as the elbows, and cut the forearms back about 2mm. Neck joint was added too... why can't we get this feature as is? Also cut the lower legs down about 2-3mm. All this makes for better proportions on an otherwise good figure sculpt.

Here's a shot showing a tighter shooting position, after the mods -

are you using glue or stitching?

Nice added range to his arms...did you just simply remove material from his torso?

Glue. I've said it before - thread at this scale will never look or work correctly. The torso, or sides of the pecs, had material removed. Inside of elbows, and right at the hinge on the forearm were trimmed a little also. Makes a huge difference on this MU fig.

That looks really good already. Looking forward to the tweaked version.

Thanks, and me too! Should have some updates in the next few days.

Too bad all of those ultimate articulation spidermen haven't gone on clearance yet. Double elbows FTW.

The only thing I might recommend (since you're obviously going all out) is using invisiline and sewing a few seems on the areas like the pockets. That type of thread won't show but you'll at least have the indentations.

Also, don't be afraid to use glue and pinch some folds. If you're doing this, since they're manmade, you can do something natural physics can't pull off at that scale.

I would put some front pockets on. You may decide later to pose him carrying his gear to the chopper. I would suggest a different knife. I think you were just showing that you left that top seam open for something later, but that knife is hideous.

I'm sure more work isn't what you want to hear, but yeah, add the pockets or you'll regret it later...at least to one of the vests...

Also digging the collar portion...it'll look cool popped out of the vest...

I knew you'd say that.
