Naturally, different plastics will take dye differently, and sometimes not at all. Also, Fogger swore by adding a little acetone to the dye bath, so you can try that.

Dye will leach into the flesh-colored plastic if they touch, so you may want to try clear coating the appropriate parts.

I've found that if i dye a part, then paint over it, the dye will leach into the paint over time and change the color. Maybe KTs clear coat idea would prevent that.

I usually hit joints with sand paper and just knock off a little plastic so things clear, but dye will get the job done, too. Just test on something you won't mind fucking up. There's not much of a learning curve, but accidents happen.
