Looks good. The one thing I would suggest is that you avoid hard corners on the backdrop. A rounded corner will be much less visible in a photo than an "L". Pics 2 through 4 are good examples of the corner being very visible.

the custom figs, the posing, the angles (especially in the #1 foto), the colors and the terrain look amazing! Really inspiring work!

for a more realistic bakground I would probably

use more plantation (aquarium plastic plants are cheap and work great)

use a 3d wall of rocks for a terrarium

use a brown blanket with some plantation in front of it

play with the angle (for example when you shoot from higher angle you wont probably need a background. you should probably just enhance the side plantation)

play with the Amplitude of the camera and the distance between the background and the rest of the scene. Sometimes, a bigger distance between the actual scene and the background allows a smaller Amplitude which focuses on the main scene but makes the background blurry and therefore more realistic.

at least this is how I do for my jungle shots:

I agree, looks damb ugly. The one thing that I learned as a carpenter for a studio called 'Bridge Studios' was color. Even tho this wasn't my job, you have to work with the artists and try and cater angles to them. One guy always told me that if they have to take shots and the angles aren't...right, they paint shadows and off colors to hide things like the different shades and lighting.
Thanks man.

Thanks Tria, I like the aquarium stuff and its a good idea. I think I will install some foam on the sides for hillish stuff. I agree with the distance thing. In all the outdoor stuff, it was easy. As I work inside in the fall and winter, I want to make the Joe headquarters and learn stopmotion animation.
I'm trying to learn all aspects of this hobby as my ultimate goal is MOVIES.
I have come alongway in a few months since I joined here. Just wait there is alot more to come.
