I really like the Invasion Team Firefly. I don't like the same old boots. There may be some other mods I'll do but for now, just the boots. This is a proof of concept pic while I wait for my donor parts to arrive to apply what I learned here towards building a better Firefly.

Boots are from ROC Gunship Firefly v19:

C&C/Suggestions welcome!

I get what you want to do, but I'm not feeling the 25th parts these days.

I understand that, and under most circumstances I will agree with you. I do, however, find the POC SE/BH/Stalker/Steel Brigade/Cobra Trooper/Firefly/etc boots to be used ad nauseum. These Firefly boots have just as much detail as a lot of the new stuff, and add a bit of something that the homage lacked. The picture doesn't do it much justice because it's extremely close up and it's my cellphone.

You shall see! Once I have everything assembled and I'm done, anyway. I shall change your mind!

I agree, I've never been a fan of the boot knife sheath and the up-turned toes on those boots.

I'm just saying those ancient 25th parts may not be the solution. Should give the figure some height, though.

I has a sad because I was expecting Mal and crew when I clicked.

Maybe one day... *goes and raids his parts bin*

A little height, but not too much. I'm minimizing the change by dremeling out the bottom of the pants where it's bloused out, just a little so that the boots being there will look natural.

I'm thinking about keeping a sheath there, though, just switching out the grayish one for a black one. Also considering cutting up a 25th FF leg for the timers/detonators on the left thigh and putting them on this one instead of a holster or pouch there.

Excited to see where this goes. And I loved these boots, mainly because they were probably the most detailed boots we saw in the 25th line.

Someone's pickin' up what I'm throwin' down. *gang signs*

Seriously, I think they are a much better choice than what else might be available, aside from the DG Duke boots, maybe.

I'm not a fan of boot knives. I know there is plenty of historical precedent, but on modern combat troops I like it better up on the shoulder, hip or even small of the back/"kidney carry".

Though I saw a 1:6 paratrooper that had the trench knife taped to the sling of his M1A1. I'd like to try something similar one day.

Try that 1:1 and you'll see the wannabe bullshit behind this. Nobody would want his knife to be swinging on the sling of his rifle/SMG.
Be it a utility knife or a fighting knife, you want it to be easily accessible, yet out of the way so it doesn't snag on roots, vines, branches, ropes etc.

I recalled incorrectly, it was actually to the grip of the Thompson, which by the look of it could possibly hinder manipulating the charging handle.

I'm sure it's something Dragon came up with.

Firefly update:

Boots are from 25th/ROC Firefly, as are the... detonators, I guess, on his left thigh. Holster is a raginspoon cast, pistol and SMG from MU Punisher. I have to apoxy fill a few spots and blend in some paint, but there ya go.

Gaaah you and Eddie both! But I understand. Still looks good though!

Haha, thanks. I just don't have a good painting ability on a smaller scale like figures. Vehicles, great. With figures, I balk. I've decided if I need to do anything more than touching up paint, I'll send them off to Canada for MSWI to do. lol

Yes, but I don't feel like the whole leg(s) suited the upper body. The boots themselves, though, were just what was needed.
