Had this in the Random Sightings Thread, but decided maybe it would be better served in here.

Curtiss Jenny - Flying Circus Jenny - Flying Circus [AP400] : Authentic Models, Superb Authentic Models and Gifts for Men

Saw this BIG motherfucker at Hobby Lobby last night. The only thing that kept me from doing the 10 minutes of work required to get a Joe crew in it was the price tag. Even at 50% clearance it was STILL $175! You can find it on eBay for a couple of bucks less and free shipping, but it's still too much dosh.

But, oh, how I wanted her. I did the math this morning and she's in-between 1:16 and 1:17 scale, so she's technically too large, but better a bit too big than a lot too small.

It wouldn't take much to get it figure ready. I think just taking out the firewall and divider between the front and back seat. I'm not sure if there would be shoulder width issues, but it should be fixable if there is.

I know just the head to use for the crew, too...

Is this one of those all-metal models? And would you keep it looking as-is, or make it into a fighter plane?

No, this one was mixed-media. Wood, metal and fabric, much like the real thing.

I'd be inclined to keep it as-is, seeing as it's not built to be disassembled, and taking it apart would be necessary to do an proper repaint.
