Yeah, most are like Joes. I always do the fingernail test. Press in the plastic with your fingernail, if it makes an indention and is soft plastic, you can boil and pop. If it doesn't, and has the "tap, tap, tap" sound of hard plastic, then you have to crack them apart like the 25th and beyond Joes. If it's the soft plastic, you can pretty much boil and pop to your little hearts desire:

IM had a hard plastic torso, so I only popped the soft parts off.

Here's Eddie's tute for cracking hard plastic torsos:

Weapon X had all soft parts, but his lower torso/crotch piece was hard plastic.

Hope that helps.

I've often wondered this too...so hard plastic torsos need cracking in a vise or with plyers?...good to know...

Yeah, for the most part, Joes and MU figures have the hard plastic. Most SW figures have the soft plastic, but there are some that have the hard plastic(RotS Clone troopers). Most movie figures like Thor, Cap, Avengers have the soft plastic, but then again, some of the IM are a mix, some soft, some hard, lol.. so it all comes down to testing which figure is what.

Which punisher? There were 3 bodies used for him, Wave 1, the Target 2pack and the most recent one.

That's the Steve Buck, so hard plastic. I don't have the Weapon X DP but I have the comic pack one and it's hard plastic too. Most likely if there's no give at all after a boiling water bath, then it's hard plastic and needs to be cracked.

Well... I kinda figured that on my own. Probably gonna take the dremel to em.

They're not glued, they're sonic welded together. Basically the halves ends are melted and mashed together... ;)

Look under the armpit. Youll see the line going up and down from the pit to the waist. You can stab an exacto knife in the seam and work it and after awhile you can crack it open. I've had luck doing this with female figures as they're skinnier and usually harder to crack open with a vise(or have stress marks from it). I usually do the same to the seam on the shoulder/neck area to help with the cracking open.

I wish to take apart an Invisible Woman & add either 25th Scarlett arms or ROC Scarlett arms.
One day I should go along with wedge1968 & have you crack some torsos for me Joe. :D

and dremel some heads? That's what I always end up doing for him, lol.

I see the complete comic pack in the 20s on ebay. Might have to bite. Bullseye could be of use also.

I just got DD last week for $12 shipped...

My targets haven't had comic packs in quite a while...TRUs seem to have them though...not sure which ones...

Kinda...I saw one for less than $10 shipped a couple weeks ago but didn't need him at the time...then Vortious sent me a sample Flash head :)shakefist:) and I needed the DD...

Now I'm looking at the Mysterio fig for $10 shipped to use for Green Lantern, but don't need it right now...I just know I'll regret waiting...
