PTE database?
I was wondering if you guys were interested in making a database for PTE like Yojoe has for G.I. Joe.
I could contribute pictures to one.
As far as I know no one has attempted to make on yet.
Only Generals Joes has some reviews...

This is an interesting concept. I think it's a pretty good idea myself. Question is, do you do it within a site or put out for it's own site? I don't know if there is enough product or interest in the line for it's own site.

This is something that NSA will have to look over. I guess it really depends on how much space it takes up. I would think not too much honestly considering how much product they have. I see SSHQ does have a small amount of PTE items. They have two Humvees and a Howitzer. With luck we could get a little extra help from over seas for the tough to get items. Now, embedding it within the site or making an archive is a whole other story possibly. That may require work! If so, scrap it now. J/K

It would be limited to in hand items most likely.

Alright kids. We would like to pursue this idea. It will take coordination of course. Here's what would be ideal:

-Picture of item in box
-Price of item at time of purchase
-Picture of item and accessories out of box

Well I have the covered Hummvee and the UAV still in package so I'll work on them.

Also, if all the accessories are around and someone doesn't have an item boxed no biggie. Hell, if anyone can snap a shot at the store that would work fine too. No point in buying something new if items are already in possession.

If anyone can just get a bunch of pictures sometime for future use that would work too. It's all about archiving.

Keep in mind this year's Z-9 and Type 92 are coming with reduced or no accessories at all. The Z-9 also does not come with a PTE pilot, just a soldier.

so here is a question to all 1:18 makers, why no mounted 50 cal for standard Humvee? I know that one of the guys on the forms does a gun shield, but what if that came standard?
I think that would give PTE (though i would like to see BBI do it) an advantage over other companys

Technically Bbi's Super Humvee does come with a roof M2, and they did prototype a variant with a M2 turret.

Time is the biggest issue. I know I have not had enough time to take pictures but anyone can contribute. Once pictures are taken I'll archive them for the future. Thing is, there is so much to check into. Not only Big Lots stuff but JC Penny and over seas too. It's quite the project.

I have a few things boxed still that I'm saving for this.

I'd love to have access to stuff like a PTE data base. I attempted to make an Elite Force 1:18 Wikipedia page years ago, around the time stuff stopped showing up in TRU. As far as I can tell it no longer exists, but I still have my original files that I used to make the entry. I just have a (mostly) complete list of the newstyle articulation GI Joe figures on HISStank that you can check out here, and since I collect PTE, Elite Force, Bravo Team and other 1:18 scale military toys, resources for these other lines would be cool to have.

I'm getting ready to add these to the Archive but I'm not sure how I want to do it.

Would you guys rather see them based on the sets they come in? This would create bunches of records of the same soldier figure. Or based on the figure? I would only list the same sculpt and paint combo 1 time and not indicate what sets they came in.

Any input would be great.

I'd do by figure. There's maybe 12 molds that get slapped in the sets.

for example one of the sets used to come with 3 soldiers but now comes with just 2

Well I got it started and added the first dozen soldier type figures.
The vehicles will be entered by set number.

I did a single entry for each soldier (that I could tell apart) and then added vehicles according to "class" of vehicle. So like Jeep, Hummer, Truck, Tank, Jet, Helicopter, etc...

There were a couple odd vehicles I included in Tank that I'll probably switch to a separate class but I didn't know what to call them. The 6-8 wheeled transport vehicles.

Anyways, If I missed any please let me know and I will get them added, and if you know the item number that would be awesome.
