So going through storage I found a bunch of ARAH bagged items..

Including:

And some other random parts.. I think a lot of this stuff would be good custom fodder.. but it's original ARAH stuff.. should I say screw it and just use it?

Well, there are better sand bag fighting positions, crate, gerry can and anti-tank barriers out there.

The cot and shelter half is pretty cool.

Yeah there are, my quandary is that these are here and free lol

How expensive is it to cast mutables of small items like these?

I'll have to take a look at what all is in the box, I also saw one of the Cobra night landing sets and the jump jet thing as well.

DIY casting starter kit runs about 40 bucks?

Nah they're opened at some point, they're bagged in ziplocks.. guessing I got them in a trade or from eBay at some point. Looks like it's the whole 85/86 set though I think.

I have so much ARAH crap I just want to toss at this point.

I can't bring myself to chop up ARAH stuff in good conditions. Which is why the few customs I've made that tore up vintage stuff was using damaged parts, not good condition ones.

I couldn't see chopping up ones that were in great shape, but otherwise go ahead.

Yeah, and there's the rub.

Some faggy part of me wants to preserve and protect the ARAH stuff.. but the rational side of my brain realizes that there is no point in holding on to all this ARAH junk that's never going to get used.

It doesn't even sell for very much anymore on the open market.. just takes up *so*much*space*. I have like 7 boxes full of parts.. from the Joe base to the PoGo to the Moray.. all abandoned projects where I was going to "rebuild" them.. bah!

They're trophies of my failures!

Too bad I don't live in CA - I'd take those boxes off your hands...my kids love the older ARAH figs and vehicles. They are playing right now on an 83 HQ.

Yeah, wish my kids cared about toys.. unless it's Pokemon they don't give a hoot :(

I think I got all the ARAH stuff back in 2007-2008, before the 1:18 bug got me. I had grand plans to restore all this stuff to new condition.. bought so many huge lots on eBay it was ridiculous. Now it's just been shuffled around for years.

Might do a craiglist 'for sell' to unload it all. Or see if a CA member wants to come snag it.

If you keep that stuff until you can attend a Joe Con, i guarantee that you will be able to unload all that shit at most likely a higher price than you're expecting.

I know it's probably not worth your while to do it, but you might try listing that stuff in your "for sell" here. I know I'm looking for a lot of ARAH parts and odd and ends. Hell, even as mystery bagged lots they might go.

Yeah that's where the trouble is.. if it's worth the time and effort to piece things together.

I'll be listing some of the larger/more intact stuff in my 'for sell' thing. Maybe throw the grab bag of stuff on there as well. It sucks because I know I had some of the cooler vehicles close to complete.. Moray.. Defiant.. etc but through all the moving a bunch of the parts got separated..
