Being a photographer, and the subject of a lot of my photos are Gijoes. I enjoy repainting a lot of my figures to make them quite realistic. But, painting certain figures has a problem due to paint flaking. So I need to find a way to keep my paint from coming off.

I've recently been looking into a basic clear coat sealant that comes in just a regular spray can. I think it's krylon?

What would you guys prefer?

I use a number of different types. Tamiya, Krylon, Testors. I've not used one that was really any better than the others.

I bought an expensive ass little can of Testors DullCoat, but I saw matte acrylic sealer at Wally World and I'm thinking of trying it.

I think surface prep is more important than a top coat sealant, though.

I've used the Krylon acrylic sealer before, but it seems to leave tiny "dots" on the surface, but you can only see them if you angle the piece just right.
I much prefer Testors dull cote, it isn't cheap but the finish is MUCH better.

I've used the cheap stuff and the finish doesn't hold up forever...the pricey stuff though, so far, is holding up VERY well
