A customer commissioned me to make him a "Middle Eastern" intersection part of a city. I have mocked up the layout and started on a lookout tower he wanted. I will say right off the bat that I think the tower is too high, so I will be taking it down an inch or so At the current height, I'd have to make the buildings very big (not something I planned)

The front, back, and one side will be covered by wood panels, the beams are there for support and obviously hold the panels. There will be a ladder down the right side (looking at picture) and hopefully some machine gun mounts up front. I may also add some spot lights to it!

As you can see from the picture above, it's kinda big.

I have developed this dowel system that I think will add much security to the whole piece especially once I get it wrapped.

So I CAN make 1:18 dioramas ;)

Alright, I re-did the tower as the other one was WAY too big in my opinion. Here is the new start:

Of course, the streets still need to be weathered, and the walls need to be painted (I just did the "stucco" this morning)

There will be wood trim around the windows and doors (that comes next)

The tower is basically finished except for securing the ladder and rooftop, and maybe some gun powder residue here and there, perhaps a bullet hole or three too ;)

Anyway, onto the pics:
