None of the zombies are interesting so far, plus they're in the wrong scale.

There were a series of small busts released a couple years back based on images from the comic book.

When the Spawn figs first came out I collected them and for the time they were ok. But now with figures in every scale that have way better articulation and QC they need to take a good look at what the buyers want and what they should build.

that's the thing. They still pretty much use the same plastic, quality and scale as they did when they first started. Sure, people who collect those scales tend to favor it as it all goes together, but there are other companies who have improved their lines over Mcfarlane's. Neca is one of them.

McFarlane could really take markets if he would just utilize his small manufacturing capability, licensing grasp, and money and and do scales that people are into these days.

Here's the thing. McF doesn't really like articulation. That's something you all need to know. To paraphrase his sentiments, it interferes with the art. Articulation will always take a backseat to the artistic integrity of the piece.

Yeah, then explain the assembly points you didn't bother to hide. For want of a better term he makes Nerd Hummels.

He also doesn't particularly care for 1:18. Some bullshit about lack of detail in the scale. Apparently he's never seen a 1:18 figure made after the Kenner SW figures.

We won't get into the whole Neil Gaiman episode and the hypocrisy it entailed, especially when paired with the reasons Image was founded.

Still, if he releases that Halo Falcon i'm on it like a Dreadnok on a brown eye.

Exactly. They used the shittiest plastic in the world. Very brittle.

I got a couple for customs, but realized I wouldn't be able to use them at all.

Arise, necro thread, ARISE!

So, has anyone seen the 2 riot gear zeds at retail? Amazon has them still for pre order, but it looks like they've slipped out in a couple of spots.

We all know I am opposed to McScale, but I figure those two are too great to pass on, and I could probably be conned into riot gear Glenn and "My Remington 700 IS TOO FUCKING BIG" Andrea at the same time.

Arguments against this course of action?

EDIT: Shit, are they the same wave as "MR700ITFB" Andrea, The Governor and Rick? Walgreens had those other 3, so maybe I A: missed the zeds or B: they just weren't put out yet?

I'm not worried about Carl. I guess I'll have to check Walgreens, or actually ask a worker there. *grimaces*

My comic shops got these in today, so check there too if you have any that carry toys. They're on sale at WG this month for $9.99 with your WG card.

With some easy head mods, Carl can be 1:18 easy... ;)

Ho-lee shitballs, I think my estimation of Carl was faulty.

Now the real question, how does he make the articulation grade? I know McFarlane says he's articulated, but how useful is it?

He's articulated, but he can't hold an tactical rifle with two hands without mods. You'll probably need to mod his elbow joint(Like Obi's tute) so he can get a better bend, boil his hand to grip a rifle better and I'm not sure about the crotch area. He has sort of a diaper crotch with two balls hanging... wait a min... His thighs pop in with a ball joint, so you only get limited movement, he's not going to be sitting down in a Humvee anytime soon unless you mod his crotch. His knees, elbows and shoulders have ball/hinged joints, I think that's what you call them, just like Joes, shoulders. His ankles are double ball socket joints, the sculpt in the pants limits the movement. These were def main to stand at someone's desk, and not really stack up against an Afghan wall and take out a bunch of insurgents.

Typical McFarlane. I guess it's alright, I only need them to stand on my TWD Compendiums. I reckon the search is on. After all, Hasbro doesn't want my money, may as well give it to that Canadian hack.

The Carl figure comes with some cool accessories. I like having a small ring of keys and a duffle full of medical supplies. Also his legs pop offenders time the wind blows. He does look great in the package though. I have 2 of the Exclusive Rick Grimes for anyone who wants one and can't find it.

Well it looks like the Deluxe Daryl Dixon with Motorcycle has some images. Entertainment Earth has it slated with 20 points of Articulation. And apparently, a 5 inch scale with the rest of the line.

Weird thing is, Norman Reedus says it's a 10 inch figure. Looks to be the same one.

I think he's simply mistaken.
Fuck, I'm gonna have to delete the fucking skull and add lightning bolts. That is gonna SUCK.

EDIT:

It's entirely possible he was looking at the 2-up prototype.

Looks like they are gonna do more comic-based figures.

Not impressed with the line up. Andrea might be cool, but I don't remember what the fuck the punk zombie looks like. It really just sounds like a zombified version of their Guitar Hero Johnny Napalm figure.

They ought to sack up and just do comic Bicycle Girl

Eh. Everything on the figure is generic as they'd have to get the rights to use names and shit like that.

The comic version was a GBH fan which is kinda funny.

I've been waiting for that Rick for a while. He spent more time being a scruffy one handed mess than his last toy incarnation in Sheriff outfit. McF put out 3 TV Ricks in the time it took them to get a second comic Rick.

I'll take any zombie to fill the herd but he doesn't knock my socks off. At least he'll stand out among the others.

McFarlane will never pay to use the correct branding. Anyhoo, they created a figure whole-cloth from a head shot.

Pretty lame one, too. Then again, does anyone remember a comic zombie that isn't Bicycle Girl?

The bulk of them are just faceless walkers to me. None really stand out that much...and that's how it should be.
