Holy crap did this take a lot of pulling and prying. The cockpit glass broke in two tiny spots, shouldn't be too noticable when it all goes back together.

On the to do list:

-shorten the rotor housing
-add air vents and exhaust pipes to the two service doors
-turn it into a two-blade
-add a rear passenger area
-modify the instrument panel
-make pontoons for the landing struts
-vac-form windows for the passenger area doors
-tweak the control sticks

Should be very interesting to see it when it done. Right now it makes me kind of sad. The series 1 Kiowa and Tow Defender were awesome in the worn olive CARC.

If it's any consolation, it will have almost the same paint job when I'm done.

You're making a jetranger? Should be neat. Need to mod the dog house quite a bit tho.

Yes indeed sir! And what part is the "dog house"?

This is gonna be cool!...love seeing these serious builds...

You called this a serious build, that made me all giddy like a little school girl.

There is that.

The engine/transmission cowling. I'm certain you've noticed the differnces between the 206 and the 58D. :D

Probably not a lot of manufacturers for 206 pontoons.

I think that's the mod I'm most excited to see.

I hope to live up to your expectations. :)

This is gonna rock! I have to do my annual recurrent on the 206 tomorrow...need any walk around pics?

Hell yeah, I'll take whatever I can get!

I think you're going to need a bigger boat.

WRONG MOVIE! :D

But thank you for playing, we have some lovely parting gifts for you in the lobby.

Also keep in mind that there are several different manufacturers for floats, bubble windows, and any other after market mods. As such you don't really have to make your floats look exactly like the ones in the photo. In the 70's it was much easier to get STC's for after market add ons. Fortunately you are dealing with an airframe that has been in production since the 60's.

Luckily the version I'm recreating was being used in snow, so that's perfect.

The one I'm recreating was used in the movie "The Thing" from 1981.
