Tunnel Rat by Cloud Strife
Cloud Strife did it again! He not only made another fantastic figure but he made another Tunnel Rat. Never satisfied with his first two attempts at creating the popular G.I.Joe figure that was first released all the way back in 1987, the third time is the charm. Cloud Strife is a member of the Intel Division and the lead Moderator for the Custom Section at Fighting118th.com. He earned this title with his outstanding work as a customizer. Here is a quote from Cloud: This is the 3rd Tunnel Rat I’ve worked on. The previous 2 were okay, but I agreed with the critiques I received regarding the last one I made. It took me awhile to figure out which pieces I was going to use, as I had decided to depart from his original design. I wanted to keep certain elements a ... Read More »
How to Paint Tiger Stripe Camo – Tutorial
I’ve had a few people ask me how I paint Tiger Stripe camo on my Joes, and I thought I’d share my technique. Now, while this isn’t a perfect representation of TS camo, it’s the best I’m able to do on such a small scale. So…. Step 1: Apply the Base Coat I lay the base coat of green down on the area that is to be tiger striped. This is the result of multiple thin coats of Testors’ Model Master Dark Green (Note: this covers how I tiger striped my Stalker custom’s pants): Step 2: Make the General Outline of the Stripes Using Testors’ Model Master Israeli Armor Sand Gray, I make the general outlines of the stripes that will later be filled in with either black or brown paint. I try to space them out somewhat evenly with ... Read More »

SlayerCon 2- Day 2 Coverage
SlayerCon 2 Day 2 Coverage One of The Fighting 1:18th Founding members, Fogger1138 attended the event and has the Intel for us! We don’t have a whole lot of New information from Day 2 however we do have a much larger Gallery including some more pictures from Day 1. Below are some tidbits from Fogger. – Got to see Ben (Jedi Master Ben on the SDS forums, one of Slayer’s sculptors) sculpting in wax. The other main SDS sculptor works in resin, so it was neat to see one way to do it. – Had a small demo on working with foam for cliffsides, and for flocking coniferous and deciduous trees. I got to take one home! – Played lots of Relic Wars. I got killed by zombies a LOT. – Got about 3-4 different ways to try to avoid ... Read More »
