Room temp water isn't gonna open up the pores, so it's got to be heated. Fogger would suggest acetone outside in a crock pot or some such.


Don't run it too hot or you'll warp the plastic. Somewhere your 1:16 tanks are traversing their turrets in disgust.

You'd have to have a really big crock-pot, but it's possible. What color is it, and what color are you trying to turn it?

Acetone mixed with water (I use a crockpot for this, so there's no issues with the stove) helps open the pores and you don't have to heat it as much (so warping's not an issue). Works really well on the plastic from some of the 25th/RoC figures that don't take dye otherwise. Just don't use too much acetone (1:10 is the most you'd ever need) or it will warp the parts.
