All the positives in this set were negated...now the sets back to zero...they got some making up to do...
If the Joe Con box set was not worth 300+ dollars, it sure as hell isn't now. Those colors are just awful! why?! why couldn't they just let the IGs have their classic, fashionable black. It would have looked so much better on those trench coats at the very least.

That's a very valid comparison, now that you mention it. They certainly threw cold water on my enthusiasm. (ba-dum-ching! Thank you, thank you, I'll be here all week. Be sure to tip your waitress...)
The OG are 80% win (100% w/ solid Horrorshow), and the Fire Brigade is 100% fail. There is nothing redeeming about these IG abominations.
Those IGs represent nothing that the originals did for me. Iron Grenadiers are suppose to be an elitist, aristocratic even, group of militants that practice old, western European military traditions. They even have western European sabers. Their helmets are like a cross between a German Stalhelm and a pickelhaube. The crest on the top seems to be more of a French influence. The fact that they are arms dealers and mercenaries who capitalize on conflict, coupled with their elitist, aristocratic, Prussian military tradition influence, makes them the ultimate contemporary ideological enemy of the Oktober Guard and their socialist origins.
And boy, that tacky color scheme is ruining all of that. They need to be in Black, like Nazis.

Nope, they're usually portrayed as Scottish in the comics. Not that some of them couldn't be other nationalities, I suppose.

being a Scott-Irish descendant I would say very few. If the IGs are mostly Scotts that makes them kind of weird considering their garb. Props to the comic artists though for not making them wear kilts, bagpipes, and wield claymores.
At any rate, regardless of their nationality, the color schemes on the convention set is sucking the soul right out of their characters for everyone.

It was an admittedly poor attempt on my part. But you get the idea. I wish I could remember the issues they were featured in. I think it was some of the original Marvel run and then maybe the DDP or Image books. I cannae ken.

How is the con that close and they haven't finalized the figures or even started taking orders for the sets?!
