I don't know too much about Crossbones, basically whatever you can read on Wikipedia . . .
. . . but when I first saw this figure about a year ago, I knew he was something special. Total Bad-ass. It is my opinion that this 1:18 scale figure is about as PERFECT a figure as you can get. Between my oldest son and I, I've handled several of these Crossbones and they are consistently well built and solid. The sculpt is PERFECT for a huge, very muscular male. Because the upper torso is softer PVC (which heats exceptionally well), you can simply swap-out arms and/or easily modify the posts. If you know what you're doing, you can afix any head to go on him. The details on the pants, the boots, the vest, all the stitching, the texture - just STUNNING. Hey, who'm I preachin' too, anyway, huh?
Anyway, I've had this project in mind for a while and am finally at the last stage of completion. I only need now to decide if I'll give him one of those deluxe magnetic display bases, or just a plain-ole' Realstands stand (which are awesome too!)
Recipe:
Mostly Crossbones original body + vest.
Wolverine Origins Comic Sabretooth neck & arms
Hot Toys ESWAT Snap-kit hands (these are, like, the coolest large sized hands with articulated wrists, ever)
All guns/grenades are Marauders
Scratch built real leather holster & wrist-wraps
Scratch built slings on rifles/MG's
Scratch built Dr. Martens 14 Eyelet (Ha! - really, I just made "Air Wair" tags!)
