The last 21 years of our involvment with ass-backwards peoples supplied by Soviet surplus are rife with tales of RPG 7 rounds that have punched into targets and failed (thankfully) to detonate.

See also Black hawk Down (both book and movie).

Which reminds me... I need to fix my Red Star now, since his arms are the old weird Duke slit wrists. He's the only 25th figure with those awful arms still in use.

Instead of General Iron Bear I was quite surprised the Club made no effort to make a Dragonsky figure since he was part of the originial OG team Quite baffling!! I respect Nacho's view that some will kick themselves for not having bought the set; but I also agree with Big K on the execution on the product itself. Good Luck to those who want the set!! I hope you get it and thanks Monkeywrench for an awesome thread on this CON set release and the discussions that it entailed!!!!!!!!!!!

I've never understood this: why is he considered part of the original team? He wasn't present for their first appearance (issues 6-7). He didn't show up until Yearbook #2, published in March of '86. Seems like it's comparable to call Flint an original Joe.

Excellent point Fogger; but he was a major character on that team compared to Iron Bear, Big Bear, Lt Gorky and Sgt Misha. I thought doing him would enhance the CON set more since he was a major character in the OG. Not as original as you say ;but was teamed with the original members.

Not I. Most of the set is shite, and I will stand by that assesment, and the amount of fucks given when it it inevitably sells out will be 0. In fact I can't wait to hear the bitching. It'll be a nice appetizer for The Great Jinx Debacle of 2012

I have no doubt you'll stick to your "I don't give a shit" guns. But I suspect that there will be a pant-load of non-buyer remorse in the Joe collecting community at large. It never fails.

"I don't want it, I don't want it, I don't want it. What? It sold out? Argggh! I wanted to buy it! Look at those ebay scalperz! Not fair. Why couldn't they make enough for everyone?! My vagina hurts!"

And yes, just like Sarge-gate and Zarana-fest, I am certain that Jinx-a-palooza will once again cause a subset of fans to need extra midol in July.

Well, nothing's happening today. Big surprise!

Hello all!

I don't think we will get the registration up today... maybe but I doubt it. If you don't see it by 5pm central it will be tomorrow. We are very close but still chasing a bug. The cause for the delay is the implementation of a safer server along with the member login routines changing due to the new store.

Also, our mailer has once again goofed up and didn't mail your May issue. So for the umpteenth time in a row....the May issues are now 3 weeks late. We just discovered this today. BTW we are looking for a new printer/mailer....as this is uncalled for.

Sorry for the delay, they should be in the mail no later than Monday.

See you in NOLA!

I'm sorry you all give these assholes money. They are such a mickey mouse racket that it's not even a joke anymore. It's just sad.

I saw that. And MB, you're right, it's beyond laughable.

I'm debating about telling them I never received Feb's and March's newsletter, just to get their reaction. Knowing them, I'll bet money they would want to charge me to "resend" them.

So last time I heard they said early in the week.

I wish all the OG had the same color tan.

Dragonsky could very well be a con attendee exclusive. They should just show those too. Perhaps showing them would convince more people to go.

They must really kiss Hasbro's ass for them to still have the license.

Joecustoms is having some fun with Horrorshow

And now till Wednesday! Big update!

From the Club:
Cheerio Lads,

We've stuffed both our thumbs up our bums and realized we know fuck-all about running a website—let alone a convention—so it'll maybe/kinda/sorta/not sure be up for registration by Wednesday.

2013.

See you in NOLA!

What I loved about this latest email was that it was sent at 10:20PM, saying that *News Flash* I wasn't going to be able to register that day.

Here was the real e-mail:

Hello all!

Well, once again I have to tell you registration is not going to be up today. I'm going to give them all day tomorrow to retest the system so we will try again on Wednesday. There are some individual browsers that are creating java issues with required fields and we don't want your information to come in incomplete as this could hinder your registration being approved.

Again, just to make sure when it does go live that your registration is error free, please review the new package matrix and the FAQs.

Thanks for your patience.

See you in NOLA!

Man, Horror Show looks even worse when grouped with the other OGs. What a disappointment...

Still don't get why the well-funded IGs have RPG 7s while the Communists are running around with a West German PzF 3.

Because RPG = bad guy. No one will know the IGs are bad if they aren't carrying the right weapons.

It's logical, I guess.

It assumes that Joe collectors are simple-minded children, but it's logical.
