There really isn't much work to this one. The second I saw the DG Cobra Trooper, I knew what I was doing with it though.

First things first, here's the Sideshow figure.

Now for mine, minus paint still.

I'm not 100% on goggles. I added them because the Desert version of the SS figure had them, and I thought they looked good. I may find another pair still.

Simple figure. DG Cobra trooper. Resolute Stalker webgear, Slayer butt pouch, BBi canteens, Broken Arrow knife. Boom.

Where did the canteens and knife come from?

Canteens were random BBi-ish fodder. The knife was from Broken Arrow.

I've had the knife in my box for close to two years now...it was perfect for this project.

I have a few more Troopers coming, and plan on making a fireteam with them, including this guy.

I'm going to end up gluing the web gear shut, and down to his shoulders once I'm finished. I'm not too worried about removing the gear.

Any thoughts on the goggles? I might trim the strap off and add a flex rex strap...all glued down of course.

I noticed the pack on the back was from Slayer. I've used that same one on a few of my customs. We really need someone casting pouches, knives, canteens, and accessories of that nature. They're sorely needed and it sucks having to fruitlessly hunt them down, or having to buy a whole figure just to get a few things like that.

There's a guy on HT (tofujesse) that seems to cast almost anything you ask him to cast. Hell, he even cast the Shocktrooper vest without the lower load on a request from me. Might be worth a PM to.

I do not have an exact timeframe, but I intend on doing this. Casting pouches, hats, and helmets, dio objects. Mostly for myself but I will most definately be able to hook some people up when i do.

Looks great. I still maintain that it's a DM and not a sniper, but that's a flaw of the original that shouldn't count as a strike on your custom.

Cool custom.

Re dm/sniper, cobra seems to have a bit of a gap between dm and jungle viper...they seem to be either shooting at personnel in apcs or people within a couple hundred meters.

Yeah, I actually got a couple of head casts from him just yesterday. His casts are top-notch. I might just PM him about doing some pouches and accessories. Good idea, Dre!

That would be cool, Medd!

I hope to learn how to make molds and cast too. Would definitely be a good skill to have in this hobby.

I already contacted him about such...he is interested and loves BBi's details....but the more that ask for that sort of stuff the better. :)

Looks like I need to mention to him. I was planning on e-mailing him about my order anyway. I need to thank him for the sculpts. I'm really impressed with them. You didn't hear it from me, but they may be the best casts I've seen... :shhh:

I have stuff coming from him. The hat, and a few of the ST vests.

My pants just got tighter...thanks!

Oh...and I'm a bit slow on the slang...by DM you mean designated marksman?

I just got an e-mail back from him and he's working on a web page to sell them from and he did confirm that he's working on the pouches, canteens, and other accessories to customize, web gear, LBV's and the like with.

Also, I believe KT does mean Designated Marksman, but I can't say for sure.

Thanks Cloud. Once I get the rest of my figures I'll be finishing my team. The Sniper/DM here

I see a couple of spots that need some paint...of course.

Eh...I have little to choose from at work.

I may go to the modular AK that came with the Shock Trooper once I get home.

I had the same issue when I was rearming the Snake Eyes that vest came with.

The pouches will believably pass for 20 and 30rnd stick magazines for the Thompson smg, so that's where I went.
After I put a suppressor on it.

You should check out the changes in Russian snipers as well as dms. The need for the new rifle in lapua calibre is there, but they are also using a lot of types that are cool. 12.7 types like vychlop, a short range urban sniper in .22 (sv99), as well as the variety for up to 400metres like as val or the vintorez from zartan.

Aside from the Thompson, are there any other readily available rifles that can take a mag like that?

I see what you're getting at, and I do like that rifle with Zartan, but for this guy I was going for the look of the Sideshow figure, which has a (somewhat different) Dragonuv.

For the rest of the team however, I'm not sure what armaments I'll be going with, so any suggestions are welcomed.

The problem with Firefly's S&W M76 is that it's pretty large. Works great for big figures like Crossbones, though.

M76, port said, Carl gustav, it's got a lot of names, all clones and licence production. I didn't realise it was so big, as I don't have one. If I remember correctly there's another hasbro version that's small.

Eh, the M76 is most definitely based on the Carl Gustav, but there are quite a few visual cues that set it apart.
