Ever since I say WRY1's drawing of a more modern version of Flint and Lady Jaye, I wanted to try to make them. Here they are...my camera battery died before I could take any individual shots with different angles. Let me know if you'd like to see some of those:

Awesome job, Slaymaker! Excellent choice of parts and paint apps. Where did Flint's drop leg holster come from?

Drop holster is from Broken Arrow toys. I love it...it is sculpted on both sides so you can glue it to either leg.

Flint head? not sure which it came off of...my carded one is missing a head so I am thinking that one. I painted in thicker eyebrows and the 5 o clock shadow...

My 1st time trying a wash and drybrushing...trying to bring it up a notch. Even bought black athletic tape to try to make slings like Rick. :D

Nice use of the thigh pad. Covered those up nicely. I have become a big fan of weathering and dry brushing personally and agree with Eddie.

Just depends on what look your going for

I think the bad thing about starting dry brushing, is if you have a large collection already that hasn't been worked on yet...so you do one, then all a sudden feel the need to go back and do all of your original collection...this is the main reason I've avoided drybrushing since I've recently become decent at it...

Nice work Slay...maybe try out some drybrushing to really pull off the wry1 effect

:(
I did dry brush as well...but with brown...

I did a wash with runny black and then later a dry brushing on both with leather brown. What color should I have used? Seriously - I want to get better at this.

I actually am very much considering "weathering" many of my other recent customs....

I use Craftsmart black for my wash and some fabrics lately. Cheap as heck but looks good.

My tan dry brush is usually a desert tan color. Lighter color will bring out the high/worn edges. A dark wash seems to fill in the crevases/creases giving a nice contrast.

I use an actual dry brush also.

so I should dry brush with a lighter green on dark green? I used brown thinking jungle dirt might be brown. Never been in a jungle so I took a guess.

You have to think about either dust or what brown mud/dirt looks like when dried...it's typically much lighter than its moist/wet form...

Another problem I have is getting it to show up in photos when done subtle...
