Has anyone done a Marine 8-point? Pretty sure Midget posed a similar question years ago.

I know I've seen them, but I'm not sure if they're part of the head sculpt or not.

I don't think anyone has- not a removable one at least. I was in the process of sculpting one, but I can't seem to locate it.

Good chance the cat's eaten it.

SDS had one on one of their headsculpts and I placed a suggestion there to cast only the cover... not sure it will happen now.

I have one of those headsculpts left if someone wanted to cut off the cover and dremel it out. I wasn't sure if that would be OK since it is another store's sculpt... I am thinking of cutting and dremeling it for one of my own customs anyway...

If you look for a thread by me with Leatherneck in it...that is the sculpt.

How will my swingin' '70s Gung-Ho hump that M79 through the bush without it?

Someone think of the chillin's!

O boy! Headgear...
The Terminator John Connor figure has a nice patrol cap, although not removeable.
Would it be possible to cut it off the head, dremel it out and cast it as a removeable cap?

Should be. Thata's what I was doing with my Leatherneck's cap to resculpt it into a proper 8-point.

I personally don't like to destroy the original. I could make a copy of the head then cut the headgear off and dremel it out then make it slighter larger to fit on a reg head then cast it. Sounds like a lot of work but its really not bad. Just something to think of.

I figure it would be a bit of work, but honestly, I don't think that there's a decent 1/18 patrol cap around these days and since you've become the go-to guy when it comes to casts...

On a sidenote: I really like to see the dynamics in this.
People don't seem to hesitate to send you master parts to take molds from and you're filling gaping holes in the world of custom parts.

Thanks to all who are supporting this.

Plus, there's going to be some amazing gear coming if he's able to cast everything that people are sending him. :) And the prices are great!

I really should buy some stuff. He's got several items I can easily use at some point.

I'd like to send him some stuff to cast, but I'm afraid it will get lost with everything everyone else is throwing at him.

Yeah, I've had that thought. Plus I really don't want to add to the workload.

I think Jesse has himself quared away quite well. He'ss tell you when to send the stuff so he doesn't get swamped by items.

Dropshipbob- I understand your concern but when I get stuff for casting I log it and put your user ID and name on it so I now what to send back. Right now though I am on a hold till next week.

K-Tiger- I should be ok. Come ON! Add to my work load.

Ridgeback- Good call man, I don't want to get to swamped. I just went and bought a grip of more equipment so I can double or triple production starting next week.

Oh, one question for you Jesse. I assume that since you make vests that you can cast in a flexible resin material?

Yes it is flexible but I am new to making web gear so I am sure I will get better in a month or so. You should ask fogger or dre I think the both have some vests from me.

Just got mine.

Vest is as flexible, if not more, than the Hasbro piece.

Very nice.

Well, sounds good to me! :)

As for painting really flexible stuff, there's a trick people who paint latex masks use to get acrylic paint to stick. There's this stuff called Prosaide, it's some sort of medical adhesive, you mix it in a 1:1 ratio and paint. I used it on some costume appliances and it works great. The only down side is that it remains just a teeny tiny bit tacky so you have to put some baby powder on it...which you don't really notice. Just blow off the excess.

Has anyone ever tried using two part expoxy paint. It bonds to the plastic. I was thinking about giving it a shot.

More content added to the site.

One recommendation/request - if you can easily do it, a "new items" or "just added" link would be awesome. :)

Not sure if he really wants to sell repro Star Wars items and incur the wrath of Lucasfilm... or at least advertise selling them. ;)

Maybe with a secret handshake? ;)
