Tell me what you guys consider to be the best available parts for a standardized uniform. Obviously we will have potential new parts next year, but let's stick to right now.

Shock Trooper arms and legs. The entire V.54 Snake Eyes mold works too. Don't be scared of the combat sweater. I dig the thighs on v.1 Retaliation Rockblock.

Really wish we'd get a PoCed Pit Commando buck, and I'm still looking for figures that would work for pre-BDU utilities.

Just my opinion:

Shock Trooper - Has the Combat Shirt and pants with the integrated knee pads. Plus, I think the vest is definitely the best base right now.
POC Snake Eyes/30th Stalker - Great alternate set of legs. Although, I do wish it didn't have the knife sheath on the right ankle.

I think that makes for a pretty good base. I really want to make a custom of someone in Multi-Cam using those parts.

Like I said, Shock Trooper arms and legs. I can't think of a great torso to pair them with.

I'm going to take a stab at solving some "realistic" articulation problems that we all face. If I can design something that everyone would want in a kit, well... we'll go from there.

You'll give it to Jesse and he'll hook us all up!

I like the Joe trooper torso a little more because the remove able neck piece opens up the possibility of different collar pieces that can be made. Its also made of a similar plastic as what hasbro uses on the MU figures with extra neck articulation. Also, if the joe trooper arms could bend a little bit more, I'd prefer them too, especially since the hands are closer to that dreaded word, scale.

I mentioned him, but PoC+ makes him look so dated.

So I'm thinking of a fig kit that would incorporate rocker ankles, swivel upper legs, and the 2 way neck joint - for starters. I'd really like to add double elbows and upper arm swivel, but we'll see what happens. I've been experimenting with this stuff for the last month or so, and obviously it has great potential based on my "ultimate ninja".

I would like to gear this fig towards being something that would need gear put on by the customizer, as opposed to having straps etc sculpted on. That way, the sky's the limit so to speak. With Jesse making pouches and packs etc, it should be a breeze to load a basic troop however you like. Jesse has informed me that he's working on a system to mold/cast joints, so if we can get on the same page with this, he could very well be the man for the job. That's up to him though...

Just so everyone understands... I'm talking about doing the 1 design for now. That doesn't mean that only one design could, or will be made in this format.

What do we think?

As long as it can reasonably pass as military from 1970-now (you'd be surprised) we're probably good.

We just need someone to come up with a good set of ALICE gear.

Well, I'd most likely use parts, or design it in such a way, to represent a more current dress. Not saying it will be perfectly matched to anything current, but I think I can get a fairly close or equivalent look. Once the new stuff comes out, we'll have the potential of making a 2nd design using more updated, and maybe better parts.

I love the idea; my favorite aspects of it are the improved articulation and absence of sculpted gear. It sounds like it would be superior to anything out there now but minus the benefits of mass production. Wouldn't something like that cost a fortune though?

It's possible that Jesse might be able to cast this "fig kit", complete with joints and all.

It's up to him, whether or not he wants to tackle such a project.

I'm partial to the PoC Hawk web gear. I like the radio placement better than the shock trooper gear.
