I'm finally finished with my "The Thing" customs! Well, with the people that is, I still have one or two "Thing" creatures to do, a helicopter, maybe a diorama.

Here's Blair.

He started out as a Star Wars Legacy Malakili (Rancor Keeper) with a head from SDS. Glasses were made from part of a blister pack bubble. I don't 100% like them, but it was my only option.

Really interested to see what the hell you've been doing with that OH-58D all this time.

Good work on that fatbody, too. :D

I also think the glasses look fine, good idea on them. May try that to make my clark kent glasses. That was the only thing holding me back from making him. The body came out great. Never would have guessed it was the Rancor keeper.

Thanks! The real problem with making glasses this way is that I don't have steady hands all the time. But I worked slowly and trimmed a tiny bit at a time till I got the shape. Once I figured it was close enough, I made sure to stop! Didn't want to go an extra step and ruin all the work and have to start over.

And then when I was gluing them on to his head, I twitched and they went flying!!! I looked and looked and couldn't find them. I did not relish the idea of having to do them over.

And there they were, lying on the work desk.:wtf:

Here are some of the others. I had them all posted at one time or another...trying to find the rest. I have since made a more accurate flamethrower for use with these figures and two alternate heads for MacReady as well as a slew of accessories.

Wrap 'em up, I'll take them. :D

Seriously, great work on those! Now you just gotta make the decapitated spider-head thingy. :)

Thank you sir, that will be $500! ;) I hate to think how much I'd have to charge for the whole lot considering how much work I've put into them.

That's one of the creatures I plan to make, I just need to figure out if I'm going to buy another Malakili so I can use the same head.

I love this movie. Great customs.

It is probably one of THE best sci-fi/horror/survival/thrillers ever made. Glad you like the customs.
