It's big. It's heavy. It's just the right size.

I found the glossy one at a toystore in the mall and overpaid for it, but I was not going to take a chance and wait for the matte version with ugly mud splatter.

I'd hazard a guess that it is 1:17 scale since it fits the 4" figures well with a little room to spare. Notice my driver has a backpack on to reach the steering wheel comfortably. The seats and turret are perfect size.

Don't hold your breath, I no longer have a home to work in. I will hopefully get a chance to empty a can of dullcote on it, possibly hit the diecast with light sand paper first, but no real weathering until I relocate.

Question:

Since the green body is metal, is it better to hit the lines with low grit sandpaper or to drybrush it? Unfortunately the turret is painted plastic and I'm unsure if the plastic beneath is charcoal like the base.

^ only way to guarantee it is uniform.

I might make a puddle of muddy acrylic paint and alcohol and roll it thru a few times at high speed to do the weathering. I've been wanting to try this idea for awhile and this might be the perfect test subject.

I figured it would wear the paint naturally and expose bare metal in some parts, saving me several paint applications and providing a true look. It would have to be something like testor finishing paper to do it correctly.

I went ahead and sanded it. Very happy with the results (even the plastic since it is molded in gun metal), but the real test and clean up comes tomorrow under the sun. I could not have painted it this realistically, unfortunately the true look does not translate in the photos.

Only the 21C diecast Bradley and M113 match/surpass this for detail and cool factor.
