Zombie Viper Upgrades

I thought this would be funny and a cool addition to vary the deformed ZV's. There's a head socket at both ends. It just pops on like a reguler head.







I am hoping Jesse would like to cast this to go along with all the other ZV parts he has. Please post here if you'd be interested in buying any.

A little too much on the Evil Dead 2 Henrietta end of the spectrum.




The head looks really small up on that neck as well.

In this case not so much. Scaled down it may work, but in this case I think a head sculpt with a preternaturally distended jaw would work best with the arms.

At least you attempted to make the arms work outside the context of the canisters and helmet.

Yeah, I agree. Great job on the sculpting, but it's probably a tad too large? Maybe just like 10-15% smaller. Or maybe try sculpting some ridiculous new head to go with it? Some sort of Violator/Venom-extended jaw skull like KT said?

It's an interesting take to those arms. I fucking hate that accessory, it's sort of just weird in the zombie context, personally. Seems like they were trying to shoehorn in a little of the Jello-Viper from Renegades that maybe got canned?... The extending neck actually works, though, and makes me like the arms idea.

And like others have said, and even I have elsewhere, the extended neck idea is really cool...just a tad too thick...and some tapering towards the head would be good too...maybe even some gaps in the neck as the tendons stretch out and space tears between them?...

I LOVE the idea, but I think yer making them a tad too thick...the sculpting and details are coming out very nicely BTW

They do look a bit big in the pics. They look ok in real life. I tried to shave the mount head down as much as I could on this one but it hardly looks any different to the first one.

I kinda wanted the surge effect of the head shooting out from the shoulders, if the neck was skinny it would look worse imo. That said, Nova had a great idea of covering the neck joint with a broken helmet - like the neck has broken through.

I need a cast of the ZV head so I can make a slack jaw to go along with these necks ;)

I think part of the problem is how it sits on the original ball neck. If you want it to look more natural then you need to make it so the torso ball neck sits deeper in the extension and looks like it's coming out of the neck/chest rather than what you have now.

Maybe even add 'torn fabric' to the sculpt where it connects so it looks that way.

I just think extra appendage options that are more weapon-like would be cool to see. Not like T1000 or anything, but more monster-like? If that makes sense.

^ This. Claws, extra long digits with talons, crablike claws.. what about hands that are mouths with razor teeth.

Thanks guys. I wanted to do the fingers thinner, but there's just no way to without them snapping in half as soon as you look at them. These have metal rod skeletons, but are still just for casting. I have another set of tendril arms to customise. I was originally going to make them bladed weapons like Carnage has, but then I thought the ZV tissue wouldn't lend itself to that type of weapon. Then I thought about adding Grinnah the Goblin's hands to ZV tendril stumps, but didn't want to butcher my Grinnah. Crab claws sound like an awesome idea though, and I know a great way to make them articulated. Will start on that tomorrow!

Think of the film "The Thing" and any sort of nasty tendrils or claws or spikes or "Venus Fly Trap" sort of appendages that could come out of it.

I also thought about modding some of those stupid "crawler vines" that came with the DVD set and the Cobra Island battle-damaged B.A.T.

Well, I was honestly considering making arm variants eventually... So possibly, yes. I hated the zombie concept when it first came out, but they grew on me fast. I just dislike having multiples of the exact same guy, which is why I swapped out all my heads for Bantha5's head casts. The next logical step for me would be some variety in arms...
