As I said on ToyArk, I hope this means that NECA is going to make a major move into the 1:18/3-3/4 market- Unimax has left the building, so the market for 1:18th scale Video Game characters is basically theirs for the taking. They do quality work a good majority of the time, so hopefully this will translate to a smaller scale, and add in their extensive catalogue of licenses, and this could end up being very good for all of us.

Joe-Scale Necromorphs, please!

No, they never even so much as showed us a line up of character renderings.

As for thinking NECA is gonna do a major shift to 1:18, I wouldn't count on it.

I didn't say they were going to shift to it- at least, that's not what I meant to imply- I was just expressing hope that this means they'll put a good bit of focus into the scale as well as the 6" lines.

Doubtful, in NECA's time making action figures this is only their second line in the scale. We may be able to expect a wave every few years, but I believe that's all we will likely get.

That's cool and all but I'm more interested in getting figures of the bad guys from video games like Gears of War so my Joes can kill them. I hope there is a chance that Resistance action figures will be made in 3 3/4 scale, I really like the enemy designs from that game for some reason.

There were Resistance figures. I want to say they were static or in some weird scale. DC Direct did 'em.

Anyhoo, I want to actually see NECA's 1:18 figures before I jump on the "Do more! Do more!" train.

Haven't they got the Half-Life, Duke Nuke'm and other game licences?

Wouldn't say no to 1/18 of those.

They had the license for Nukem, but didn't the game tank hard?

That doesn't necessarily have a terrible effect on figure sales, at least if you patterning them on the versions from the game that didn't suck.

I've seen Resistence figure, but weren't they larger than 1/18? They were like Halo scale.

Aye, but Duke Nukem Forever was a legendary mess.

Duke Nukem 3D however is bliss, a total classic.

Apparently NECA is hitting us with another 1:18 line at Toy Fair. Go check out their site for the most likely candidates for what it'll be.

Sorry, but they said it WILL NOT BE PREDATOR.

Do they currently? I know they had it, but it's been a number of years since they moved on it.

From the list we're creating, I wouldn't be surprised if it was half life. That's not because I'm focused on it right now, but because little tidbits of information on HL3 have been sneaking out and that's what inspired a few of my designs. It just makes sense from a business standpoint to time it when HL3 is officially in development and excites the fanbase.

Valid argument. I'm starting to get excited, though I know I should be cautious.

NECA are very competent at making action figures, but it may not translate over to the smaller scale. Look no further than McFarlane's Prince of Persia line for proof.

I would LOVE that. I just finished the original HL last night for the first time in years (but probably about the 10th time overall), and I started HL2 yet again. I would buy the $#!% out of any HL figures, regardless of scale, but especially 1:18. I buy plenty of ML, DCUC, and MOTUC... but I think there should be a law stating that all action figures should be 4".

BTW GB, when is shapeways going to sell your headcrab for less than $13? I need a handful of those little bastards. :)
