Thought I would snap some photos for you guys.

One is a jungle ruins set (inspired from countless stuff I've seen over here)

And the other is a trench sorta area.

I'll post a lot more when I can.

Feedback is appreciated!

They both look really good. the building turned out great bro. You could just put a wash on the rock one. Mix a similar flat brown color and thin with rubbing alcohol. Apply the wash, The sheen should be mostly gone.

Nice!

What's the trench made of? Looks like urethane expanding foam?
The ruins look good - I like the stonework. The overgrowth looks a little "manicured", though. Ever tried ground foam? Woodland Scenics sells a whole range for model railroad scenery.

The trench one to me looks cooler because it's got more depth. I agree on the shine, tone that sucker down! One thing you could do is literally spray it with adhesive (like 3M) and toss some powder or something onto it. They make stuff like that which comes in bags at Michaels, specifically for dios. Like fine-grain sand, or something.

For the wall one, take a wad of aluminum foil, ball it up, and literally just roll it over the face of it. It will pit it and give it texture. Then do another wash on it to capture some of the pitting. It'll be like night and day.

And here you go! Went back and fixed the ruin. Also here's a base for desert photos. The wall sections are modular, so if I decide to make more.

Nice pieces!

I need a little inspiration like this to continue my city street building pieces to go with the streeet and sidewalks.

Very well done. It would be helpful if you put a figure in front of each of the dioramas in order to get an idea of the sizes. In case of the second one (the one with the gray walls) I recommend to put here and there some green between the stones. In case of old structures plants normally start to grow in the spaces between the stones.

Firefly's prick ass decided to come check out the new wall I carved. As always, critique!

Looks great!

Back in the day before CAD when I worked in the field of Architecture as a draftsman I had to draw alot of roofing and facades like this.

What helps with the brick to go faster as I'm sure you found to be tedious and boring is making like a true running bond where the next row first brick is half the distance of the lower row and back again for the third. This way you all the bricks will be consistent in size and with a vertical straight edge you can punch out faster by making the vertical lines on every other row unless of course you were trying to make them different sizes.

In real world clay brick will be basically the same size so it can be stacked and bundled for delivery.

Did I get to technical? ;-)

You did for me, because I don't understand what you meant here. I would love the advice since I have some brick walls I've been putting off working on.

he means make all your horizontal lines first, than go back and carve the verticle lines second row by row. Can do this left to right, but what i think he is saying is make a veticle line for your brick at bottom corner of wall, than make same line on every other brick row directly above it. than move half the distance of a brick over on next row up and carve every other one. repeat till end. Damn, its hard to explain in writing. I'll try to draw something up.

Actually, without being a dick, that's mostly what I did. You just have to make sure you don't skip a row or put two together if you're not paying attention. At worst, you "battle damage" it or chop it up and use it as smaller wall segments.

Depends on the price. I can't find all this awesome foam people are using so I'm out of the DYI hunt.

I'd be happy to do the painting and assembly myself if I had to.

Size? 2" taller than the figure itself or actual building sides?
