But Eddie, that's inherently the issue. The rest of the country doesn't have a protection racket, so the good employees stay and the idiots and assholes are removed with no fuss. It's far more efficient.

And while I think most people agree the idea of unions is good, and they certainly were when they were formed and there were no worker rights or protection laws to speakof. But in today's society, unions are seen as not standing up for the little guy but rather unfairly demanding far more than they deserve in a free market.

The idea of protecting the status and jobs of people who are lazy and worthless in addition to the good employees... that just feels like socialism. Everyone gets treated the same no matter how worthless they are. Fair or not, it undermines the notion that hard work pays off, and slackers don't succeed, and that really troubles lots of people.

Don't take my arguments the wrong way. I respect your opinion and I'm not arguing to convince anyone or get you to stop talking. Quite the opposite. I want to hear the other perspective, as we don't have many union people here. I don't think I'll ever agree with a pro-union mentality, but I hope to understand or gain a little perspective.

This^^ I couldn't have typed it better myself. I agree with 100% of this, especially the Bold.

Got a response back from the Club with the shipping info for my FSS Month 1 shipments:

Your tracking number is XXXXXXXXXXXXX.

When the tracking number is entered at USPS is shows:

Status: Delivered

Your item was delivered at 5:12 pm on November 21, 2012 in XXXX, CA 940XX.

Anyone want to tell me what's wrong with this?

Apparently delivered by Delorean.

Exactly.

What they did was pull my "past order" history, and found a previous item shipped to me. Which was the replacement pin from my JoeCon set that was missing.

Which, btw, wasn't the Oktober Guard medal when it arrived, but some dinky Dreadnok pin. Sigh.

Actually the club overcharged on shipping. The weight was actually 10 ounces compared to the weight they paid for which was 1 pound. Either they just estimated they would all be 1lb or someone just didn't care to weigh one of the packages.

I don't take anything the wrong way here (i think?)...that's what I love most about this site...we can have grown up conversations like geown ups...

The only thing I'm proficient on is automotive unions...it's the only ones I have expireince with...and I was laying in bed last night thinking about this...I had so much I wanted to say...for one,mim too lazy to type it all out, and two, it it's almost pointless...unions are dying and will be dead...the rest of the country (working class) will regret it as a whole...when union members make less/no benefits and no one has protection, the rest non-union but well paid will follow...we'll all make minimum wage...once unions are gone there will be no reason to take care of employees...the only reason now is the threat of unions (that BTW is the need for unions today)...think I'm nutty if you (not you specifically nacho) want, but companies aren't taking care of their employees out of the goodness of their hearts...

Don't go 'round acting like our threads actually stay on-topic...

Here, let me try. Club Sub figures were delayed in Dec at the port in LA... because of one of those damned unions!

There, happy?

Fantastic! :D

Apparently delivered by Delorean.

Even MORE fantastic!...lol

Bumblef#$%s!

And Eddie wonders why I'm paying an extra $4 per figure to get the ones I want from BBTS...

It was YOU that started all this crap with your BBTS business...you d!ck ;)

Yeah, well I guess I did. Sue me! My figures won't get lost in the mail, stolen off my porch, nor will my financial information be used by a Ukrainian man named "Peggy" (at least not for a third time...).

---------------- Union Aside Below (feel free to skip) -------------------

You say that we're all doomed without unions, but I had a nice career at a large company. When I got fed up, I changed jobs. When I got fed up some more, I went back to grad school for another degree. And when I got fed up even further, I quit a really good job and started my own business. Not once did I ever want, need, or wish to have a union looking after me. So I guess I genuinely don't understand the appeal. I always figured I'm much better at looking out for #1 than some some dudes just sitting around skimming off union dues.

Yup. PO either lost or misplaced both my sets. Tracking number says it was delivered Christmas Eve, which was 3 days into my mail hold. Fucking fuck.

Well, besides the Club's shipping department being incompetent enough to send me the wrong tracking number, they've been as helpful as they can, albeit a tad slow. It shows as "delivered" which, as far as they're concerned, means it was delivered. If I can't get it recovered from the PO, I'll see if they can do anything but they're not obligated to. This is exactly why I didn't want them to ship over Christmas. Because things get lost.

As for the PO, I'm hoping they simply set it aside in their back room and neglected to deliver it. If they did deliver but to the wrong address, I'm just SOL.

Fingers crossed but I'm not expecting this to end well. I'll be pleasantly surprised if they show up, though.

That is good that it wasn't Boa or CG. Still, there is no excuse. How do they lose mail when they were supposed to hold it anyway?!

I love my mail carrier. He's awesome. But the rest of our post office is full of disgruntled half-wits. So I guess I can imagine them playing floor hockey with the box and then using it to stand on to change light bulbs or something.

I have a variety of mail carriers - a few of them are good, and then there's the guy who lobs my packages out the door of his still-moving truck as he goes around the turnaround in front of my house. (nope, not exaggerating)

Just got off the phone with some dumb bitch at the local PO. She spoke very little English, and repeated 4 times to me that "Dwivuh say he put all package on mailbox on dewivuwy date, okay? No have package here!"

Considering that the mail was delivered late on Saturday and I got home early Sunday, I highly doubt that someone grabbed the wrong package or stole it within 12 hours' time.

She tried to explain something about a driver cage that made zero fucking sense, and kept repeating her half-Engrish, half-gibberish. Do they not just keep shit at the PO until the delivery date? How fucking dumb.

So what the fuck do I do now?

Worst case, at least it wasn't the GOOD figures and you still have a backup at BBTScalpers

Dice was one of only 4 that I considered "must-haves" from the entire set. The fact that I got 2 sets pisses me off even more. I couldn't give a fuck about the Jinxes, but I do want the two $50's worth of figures that I paid for regardless of whether I care about the figure.

Were it me, I'd go down to the PO with the confirmation number and demand a supervisor.

Well, I emailed our building superintendent. I'll try that angle tonight, but yeah, tomorrow I'm going down to the actual PO and talking to someone who's not a dumbfuck and hopefully speaks something better than Engrish.

...And there's a no-show at our management office, nowhere near the mailboxes, and I went next door to the other building that often gets confused with ours (I have letters and packages for our counterpart-apartment-number over there delivered to us all the time) and nada.

Guess who's gonna be mad as hell when he goes to the PO tomorrow afternoon?

And the plot thickens...

The guy I spoke to looked like Mongo but was actually a really nice, funny, sarcastic guy. You could tell he was competent but fucking sick of working for the Post Office.

Anyways, the package WAS delivered on Christmas Eve, despite the hold. To what address, though, they have no idea. It wasn't mine, though. Apparently our driver was fired 2 months ago and our route is now filled by whatever slack-jawed yahoo is available for the day.

I have to call back tomorrow to talk to a Supervisor, who apparently has access to run the info on the package scans (they have a TON more info that doesn't show up on the tracking site at USPS.com, btw) to find out what incompetent dumbfuck delivered it 2 weeks ago.

But the PO guy said don't hold my breath, that it's likely to not turn up ever again since it was mis-delivered on Christmas Eve and was a toy.

Yeah, that won't happen. I paid for the Club's "insurance" though (since you know, fires and shit happen to my shipments), so I'm reaching out to Karen and those guys to see what that entails, whether it was PO insurance or what.

Goddammit, am I mad.

What really sucks is the hassle YOU have to go through for OTHER peoples incompetence

Sigh. That's the tale of my life on a daily basis. I'm like a retard-magnet, and my girlfriend thinks I'm just dramatic. I have so much ridiculous shit happen to me, that it's stopped being funny. I want it to stop.

Sucks, man. If I was getting Dice out of the deal with MW, I'd give him to you.

Thanks man, I'm hoping if it doesn't show up, the Club will at least replace one set. I got an "emergency" backup Dice on BBTS preordered, just in case shit like this happen. Seriously, people think I'm joking. I plan on this shit happening because it fucking keeps happening.

For example:

What is the cheapest shipping method? Because I'm going to be pissed if mine arrive while I'm out of town for two weeks for the holidays and they're just left sitting at my doorstep. If it was USPS, then I'll just put a hold on my mail as always and things will be here when I get home.

I'm so irritated at them shipping during Christmas. A lot of folks are out of town during this time. If they couldn't guarantee it by early December, they should've waited. God knows the delivery services fuck up during regular schedules, let alone during the holiday rush.

Yeah, but they should've waited after that 49th fuckup, whether it was their fault or not. I'd rather get 4 in January than have 2 lost in December.

Just logged into my account and it looks like I went with Priority Mail (I likely went with whatever was the absolute cheapest since their service was so ridiculously expensive) so I guess it'll be here when I get home, so long as the USPS holds my mail proper and doesn't screw that up somehow.
