The detail is amazing... but in the advert video, He-Man's head barely touches the door knocker/lion's head emblem. In the prototype, He-Man is knocking his forehead on the upper teeth.

Seriously, I love the detail, but the size is astoundingly different than what we bought into. I'm extremely torn.

After watching the video at :44, I was convinced that this was the set for me given it's sheer size and expected detail.

What we are receiving, Gentlemen, is a classic LIE from Mattel. They have pulled off the perfect "Bait and Switch," in that the fuckers are now producing an item that is not the same size as originally advertised.

I promote and support the idea of demanding your 250 dollars back, since the currently promoted item is clearly smaller than the originally advertised item.

Watching that youtube link (thanks for posting that) and at 4:48 you can see where TGuru says "So He-man can fully fit in there" and cleary he does not. Looked like a very awkward moment for Scott as it was clear that He-man did not.

Perhaps someone with a little know how can create a online petition/poll where people can voice their opinion and Mattel could clearly see what the fans want. The castle promised or the reduced in size castle. I know I'd sign up for it

I was just looking at the very same thing, even broke out the measuring tape. Judging from all the pictures I've seen and comparing it to the initial prints showing measurements the castle at toy fair is 2" shorter and nearly 4" not as wide.

I really hope it's early enough to make the size changes. I think I might cancel my order and take my chances on the secondary market over here. What i might overpay on ROP, I will save on not having to pay customs fees. Plus there's always the chance that no one over here will want one and I'll get it cheap like I did Granamyr.

This might be a blessing in disguise actually.

The people at Mattel are proving that they are nothing more than high-price thieves for the dramatic decrease in size.

One of the best selling points for the castle was it's size, but it's clearly a LIE perpetuated to generate sales.

I would be curious to see the number of fans who demand their money back based on Mattel's well-evidenced LIE on the subject.

But then again, maybe people will leave their orders in place under the optimism that Mattel will actually deliver a product in keeping with their original advertising.

I'll probably still get it, be pissed about it, and make some 4" MOTU figures so the scale is actually correct. Ten years later, it'll look awesome.

I think after I get Jitsu and Ram man I'm done with MOTUC for now. Unless I can pick a figure up on the cheap I feel pretty let down. I lost my first MOTUC collection to a pycho with a fireplace and I only replaced it because of the Castle that we were shown during preorder. I do like it but its just too small for what I had in mind with it.

I just love the all-new subscription they trotted out today. More money, more figures you've never heard of. Except the whole point of the sub-line is to be EXTRA obscure. Personally I see this as one last cash grab, knowing that the rest of this year's regular sub will be underwhelming - to the point of not supporting another year of this nonsense. "Club Filmation" is for the hardest of the diehards AND the deepest of pockets.

I'm actually excited about Friday. I'm excited about Ram Man, but I'm more excited about lifting the MOTU burden off my back. I'm genuinely looking forward to stopping collecting something.... and on my terms no less, not just because they quit making it.

True, but there was enough nerd-rage over the bait and switch on the size of the castle that they are allowing cancellations only on the basis of you calling and saying that it's too small. And I don't know how long that window of opportunity to cancel will be open. I suspect a few weeks tops.

Originally it was a space suit but some now are referring to it as armor. Its just a static decoration but the original was a decal.

Yeah, I remember it (sort of) as just a sticker on the inside. As was most of the "tech" stuff inside it. Wasn't there at least one or two cardboard cutout pieces, too?

yeah, the suit, computer and a weapon rack that was just a photo of some guns, shield mace and axe I think. I remember keeping all those until Cobra took over the place and after that I'm not sure what happened to all of it.

Just noticed the floor is half as big on the proto as it was on the foam mock up.

Mo-Lar won't even need a step-stool to keep grayskull's teeth free from plaque buildup.

I actually pre-ordered mine through Ebay at 100 dollars for both.

I realize that I paid about 28 dollars too much for them, but the pre-order payment was made several weeks ago knowing that I probably wouldn't be able to get both the old fashioned way.

As far as Mattel is concerned, that company is pretty much dead to me until April brings us Snake Face. Once I get him, I am done with Mattel until I see Blast Attak, Horde Trooper, Blade, Saurod or other similar figures from the first generation. On the fence about Batros and Icer (Is the hood on Icer removable, because he would look perfect without it).

Karatti, Foe Men, Octavia and the rest of that crap can KMA.

Got busy with work and totally forgot to even try today. I guess I'll pick one up on the secondary market or do without. Either way, I'm pretty much done with Mattel on all fronts.

DCUC is nothing but "New 52" reboot repaints, and MOTUC is doing z-list characters. DC movie figures are laughable, and my hatred of Mattel makes me want to stop buying Hotwheels and such for my kids too. I'm leaving my CG on order or now, but I do not plan to purchase any more of their crap for a very long time.
