I forgot what all was in it. Mostly stuff I'll be passing on, but we can assume it'll all look good if not be scaled correctly.

It'll be nice if they finally scale it all to true 1:18...if the grips are larger/fatter to fit in hands I'll forgive that..

Don't even get me started on that laser rifle.

I love the laser rifle! I'm looking forward to the weapons that I did not make. The ACR, Skorpion, and Tech-9 specifically.

I made that mistake.

I think it's extremely strange that Falcone makes some of these exact weapons, Marauder decides to make them too.

Their Kickstarter for this set went up very soon after I released my set.

I made that mistake.

I've been meaning to buy more from you. The Galil and the AKSU are fine in my opinion because of how sturdy the triggers have been, the index fingers of the newer figures are great at holding them.

I'll be honest. I can't see the difference between that laser rifle and the gazillion I have in storage. I think a grease gun with an optional flash suppressor/barrel piece to make it ARAH would have been a better option.

The new one will be larger???

:D

Since they're going with sliding stocks similar to the ones I was designing for my M4/SR-16, they should have just slightly redesigned it to look like a modern update instead of leaving it as a carved popsicle stick.

Well... damn.

Dear Marauder GR Supporters,

Due to issues beyond our control, the release date for the "new" Marauder Series #7 items has slipped from the end of May to the end of August. We are most sorry. Below is the "official" more detailed announcement we posted to our kickstarter pre-order participants a few days ago on the kickstarter website (delay is for all the items in both the original kickstarter event and the 2nd kickstarter "mark II" event).
Sincerely,
MJ
--------------------------------------
As you've seen with the prototype pictures, we have really pushed the level of detail & features with the new items. We've taken a tremendous amount of joy in sharing the development process with you all and both of our kickstarter projects have become a real group effort. During the production process, we've come to the unfortunate realization that our current tooling company can NOT meet the level of detail and features we need for this project.

The first tool had one of the "new" modular items, but when tested it was not satisfactory (issues with folding stock, mag wouldn't properly "sit" in place and several of the modular mounting points were missing). In addition, the painted versions didn't match the paint master & paint directions we sent for production. We want to bring you the best product that we can, so we've had to source a "new" tooling company that should be able meet our standards. We have confidence in the new company that we're using & working with them on these complex items will allow us to solve our current issues and we'll use them for future projects. But this entire process has not just cost us money, but has cost us dearly in our MOST valuable asset...TIME. Consequently, due to the unavoidable tooling issues, the avail date for the kickstarter items has slipped from the end of May to the end of August. We are very sorry, but we couldn't overlook the issues encountered with the quality & feature level of the items from the 1st production tool. Luckily, we were able to halt the process BEFORE the other tools were finished.

Again, our deepest apologies. If ANY of you would like a REFUND of your pre-order payment (less any items that might have already shipped), just let us know and we will take care of you. Our email is: info@marauderin.com If you wish to keep your pre-order in place until the items are ready in late August, we will fill your order when the items are ready AND will also add some "bonus" items to your shipment to help make amends for the delay.

Again, thank you for your support and we deeply regret the delay.
MJ

I don't think this should really come as a shock to anyone, and should have almost been expected. There are always going to be delays in production. It's happened to Marauder in the past and happens to Hasbro and the Joe Club frequently. And happens to me as well.

From the MGR Facebook page:

Hi!
Thank you for your GREAT support following the Series #7 delay announcement! We're humbled by the encouraging comments and positive attitude towards the new series...even with the delay!

On a related note, we understandably had some participants in the kickstarter event back out and request a refund (majority were so kind as to site financial reasons as opposed to being upset). Regardless of how it happened, that means we have a very limited number of Pirate Hoard sets that need a home. So if you missed out on participating in either of the pre-order events and want a Pirate Hoard level package from either kickstarter promotion shipping the end of August, just send an email to: info@marauderinc.com There are just a few of each set available and it is "First come, first served."

We're not going to sell the kickstarter exclusive items after the items are released on the website and we can't increase the number of exclusives that are produced (what was ordered is what was ordered), so hopefully these "orphan" sets can find a home (either that or we'll have some AMAZING geared up figure displays at the next convention!). Here are links to the kickstarter events so you can see what was in the different "Pirate Hoard" sets:

Thanks again for your AMAZING support and just email if you have any questions!

Wow they got $20k?

Impressive.

Think it's kind of funny they had stretch goals to 250k though lol

Considering a card game based on tentacle rape made 30k, I'm actually kind of disappointed.

Everyone can relate to tentacle rape.. Itty bitty guns for dolls.. That's a niche market!

That's no way to talk about Eddie. I mean come on, at least wait until he's in the thread.

They're out of stock on a lot of things- the modular NVR rifles and tactical vests for example.

Anyway, a lot of it looks promising, but I'm still a bit cautious about how much functionality they're trying to cram into such a small scale. The sliding stocks I'm not so much worried about- Hasbro's done it before without messing up scale too much (the M4 that came with Duke at the end of the VvV line), so I don't doubt MGR can pull it off- but the folding stocks have me a bit worried. Not to mention the difference in plastics used.

Still, I'm in for a Pirate Hoard, so I'm getting a fuckton of the guns in. If you want any, hit me up NSA.

Thank you.. I've yet to mess with any of the casted/custom stuff.. I order some from Falcone recently so we'll see how those look. I've been making due with BBI/FOV/Hasbro stuff.

Am curious though how they turn out "for reals" though. I agree it is risky putting so much detail into the guns, should be great if they pull it off though!

I've ordered from Marauder before, and I will say that the only weapons that I own and don't particularly care for are the criminally undersized G36C and ridonkulously XBOX HUEG Modular AK from Series 7. If you're looking for a good feel of what they can do, I'd suggest picking up the Series 4 Modular M4. A bit oversized, but it's still a solid piece of kit and definitely MJ's signature product.

Actually haven't ordered from Falcone yet, but that's more due to the fact that I'm broke as a bad joke than anything on his part.

Yeah I missed the boat on the 1.0 series from him, so I wanted to make sure I grabbed a few of the 1.5. Hopefully they work well!

Will keep my eye on the MJ stuff though, at least it looks like he is trying to trend in the right direction.

Marauder posted pics on their FB page of some test shots using the actual tooling. I have to say they look extremely promising.

Still don't understand why they're doing the Joe laser rifle - they seemed pretty common. I have something like 30 of those if anyone wants extras.
