growing up we would see how far we could get the heads to fly.

How? Quite simple, grab snake by end of tail, about a plams width. Approach anything with a verticle corner.. say a house. Stand parallel with the house and give the snake a good swing. It might take a few serpents to get good at it but when you hit them just below the head on the corner of the house their head pops right off and is sent flying. I think my cousin got about 30 yards out of one, that sucker sure flew. Of course it landed next to my aunt who was tending the garden. Her reaction, Priceless.

btw I don't condone cruelty to animals. If your going to kill it, make it quick. This was just the stupid act of a 10 year old. Was quite fun though...

You really want those things that badly?...I don't care about them in the least...didn't care about fang man until today, lol...

If I get him, we'll work something out...I don't mind splitting them up at all...worst case, if one of us no longer wants what we have, we know who to send the other parts to :)

I like the relics that the various characters come with. Like you mentioned about the sword of ancients, I remember that episode but curious why it came with Fangman. I bought Preternia He-man just for the Cosmic key and the figure I just threw back in the box. All those goodies I'm going to have adorning the walls of my castle :)

I wondered why the sword came with him too, but I guess maybe just incentive for buyers?...but then, he's a sub figure...maybe Matty can be cool occasionally when they throw subscribers bones like this...

As for impulse regrets, like I said I'd take those accessories off your hands if you really decide not to want them after getting them in hand!

I spent the better part of the last two hours reliving some childhood memories.
Lately with all the bio's on the MOTUC figures my memory was getting a bit blurred as to what really appealed to me about the Masters of the Universe as a kid. I mentioned before I had never seen the cartoon and was grateful I hadn't. Well I found a site that has all the old minicomics in digital form and I'll admit I read the first 2 series with wide eyed wonder. I was that little kid all over again. Amazing how it feels to be transported back in time. Gone was Prince Adam and the mustached Man-At-Arms, gone was Orko. Enter He-man, a blonde Teela, a male Zoar and the Goddess. Was great reading these old comics again and seeing now how they grew and evolved into the story we know today. These first and second series are what I remembered about MOTU.

Read for yourselves, yes a bit on the lame side but I prefer this old story to the Adam that came to be. Funny reading a love smitten He-man getting ambushed and nearly killed when comparing it to the cartoon that followed.


Series 2 introduces a slug of characters. Ram Man, Man-E-Faces (brutal introduction), Trap Jaw, a very powerful Tri-Clops and Procrustus is introduced here as well. This series has by far the best written stories the Mini Comics has to offer.


Series 3 introduces the Sorceress almost as we know her, and a few issues later the issue that the MOTUC is credited for The Temple of Darkness (which as a kid was the only comic after series 2 I had). Series 3 also introduces the identity of Adam, Randor and Marlena. You can tell by now how the comics begin to co-exist with the cartoon.

That first one was pretty cool...it's cool to see that the designs never changed too much...Beastman looked like he was modeled after Bigfoot...

Was that Merman outside CG with BM and Skeletor? (Page 8)...looks like someone else but I couldn't tell who...

Yeah, Beastman really does look like Bigfoot. His "armor" looks more like he grew his horns rather than wear them.


Yeah, that's one scene that doesn't make much sense. Skeletor, Beastman, Merman... and Stratos? You can make out the wings on his arms but regardless the pages before Stratos nor Merman were involved.. nor after that either. I would love to see the other artwork that was done just to compare as pages like this certainly prove that the artwork came before a story, or at least a finished one. Regardless, I love this old stuff!

I thought it looked like Stratos but that made such little sense, that I didn't even want to suggest it...hahaha...

I know they're what you grew up with, so I can see how this your cannon...but based on just this first issue, it's not very fleshed out and makes little sense sometimes (a dimension of Skeletors?...whaaaaaaat?!)...maybe that gets cleared up later...?

So far, I'm seeing why you guys all loved 200x so much...it was so well told and they covered so much backstory...

Yeah, Skeletor was viewed as one of many. As I understand it this idea is what spawned the Horde as the story evolved. So of course Keldor wasn't even a thought let alone Adam and the House of Randor.

The story is very weak at best. Looking at the Conan tales from the 70's to 80's you can really see a similarity. A lost advanced civilization left behind wonders of technology and science. Did you see the Battle Ram hidden in the shadows behind the Goddess after she presented He-Man with his armor? Love how Grayskull has computers and monitors where even Man-at-Arms lives in a stone hut.

The stories get better with series 2. I'll be loading more just after I finish the last episode of Game of Thrones. Damn dvd's anyhow
