It's a Mustang III. Built by the civilian firm Cavalier, as best as I can tell to sell overseas.
This one has a Rolls-Royce Dart engine on it, and I'd pay actual money for this thing in 1:18. For you ARAH guys, imagine this as a ride for Dogfight.

I dunno, I bet they made a pretty penny selling all that stuff so fast. It'd get expensive to have to store all that stuff over the long term to try and sell at ebay prices.
I'd be curious how much they paid for it..
Truth be told, if I could source a cheap Mustang and could get a new cowl made I'd just do those, plus scavenge some Joe vehicle for the wingtip tanks.
It wouldn't be accurate, but it would get the overall feel of the Mustang III. Plus I think the turbocharger intake scoop would make it look a bit cooler. It would work for the period in which my Joeverse is set.

Right off of the 21st Century Huey! Now that I think of it I have 4. Use the underwing drop tanks that come with the Mustang out on the wing tips.
I thought about trying to mate the 190 cowl to a P-51, but I don't think it'll work out. I guess my 190 will contine to remain unassembled.

It makes me sick to my stomach that the cheapest 21st P-51 on eBay now is $129.99 or some nonsense.. BAH!
I put TOW pods on one, and gun pods on the other, so I've kinda got a surplus going.

Double BAH! Who the hell would have thought I'd find a use for a fucking P-51? And who the fuck would have thought that damn thing would bring that much, there are only at least a dozen variants between Bbi and 21st. Le gay.
That's a HELL of a good price for a kubel. Deals can be found, but I don't use eBay anymore so it's gonna be tougher for me to swing one. I remain optimistic about the project, though.
