The other pod came, so I guess I should set to work on it.

One of my Huey Hogs. My Cobra is lucky I'm not stripping parts from it.

I need to pull the Huey down and look into running the brace bars.

Just restrung the FM boom antenna on my Joe Huey out of one strand of wire. I are very happy. Looks much cleaner than the pieced-together one.

Next item is the universal mount-to-fuselage braces.

Just trying to see if I can improve the Superman figure. Added knees and ankles, still need to finish the paint. Gonna change hands too. I may go out and buy another Superman and maybe bash a MU Capt America or spiderman from waist down on one to see how that works. The texture difference is bugging me. I'll need the boots from one to do that. When I chopped legs off of this one, I cut across the boots. Just wasn't thinking.

That's a pretty good idea. I could do that, dremil would get it done pretty easy I think. Pretty sure torso is hollow. Need to hunt around for a base figure, Prefferably blue.

The only all blue figure I could find was cyclops...the yellow strapping slides right off...the problem is he's really skinny...not very superman-y

Yeah.

What I am doing is scrapping the new movie one, probably cut his shield off, I am taking the Public Enemies Superman and bashing him with the Avengers skrull. They are an exact blue match and all I really need for the PE Superman is new upper legs and upper arms. Legs went on good, doing arms now.

Love the way the legs attach to the torso of the skrull. Never saw it before, Hard to describe. But will make adding hip articulation easy for almost any figure.

I'm gonna paint the skrull belt thing possibly for Thrasher.

I've been working on a commission piece for the last week or so.

It will end up being a Joe 2 Colton. This will be the final color.

Dang!...they all look so good in a group

Thanks...working on adding more realistic details. I already did the washes (found some pre-made washes - results are SO MUCH BETTER than when I tried to mix my own!) Next is adding some dry brushing...slinging weapons...making sure mag pouches and weapons match....then better pics. Need to make a light box to get better pics...

Man I wish there was a place to get a bag of pouches and such to gear up these figures more realistically w/o robbing Peter to pay Paul...

Initial planning stages of a Trubble Bubble-to-helicopter conversion. Thinking a one-man observer area might be possible.

After posting my Captain Price custom, I started over on my COD Ghost custom. THe head is good but started over with a new body and going for a screen accurate version. I have the web gear almost done, sculpted/built a headset with mic for him, and removed some pouches from the legs to make room for a custom holster I am working on for him. Should be ready to paint this weekend.

Question for the sculptors in the group...I am using Ave's Fixit Sculpt. I am new to sculpting but so far it makes sense and the results have been mostly ok. My question is regarding adding the finer details. What is your approach to adding the fine lines, etc. Mostly how long do you wait to do it. Do you let it setup at all or do as much as you can while it is still "wet"?

Aves' Fixit Sculpt, the two part stuff right?

If so, it cures on it's own. No boil or baking needed.

Eddie, have you ever checked out Urban Rev toys? The dude that runs that has a 40 piece set of pouches and gear for like $4.99. I bought a couple of sets, they are pretty cool. You should check it out.

Yes, I have let some pieces cure over night but wasn't sure if boiling or a blow dryer would speed it up.

It air dries, but temps will effect it. Heat will cure it faster... like putting a lamp over it. Don't boil or bake it.

Yep - I bought like 3 or 4 sets from him...some have flash to trim, but I ended up sanding/shaping the backs to fit the figure anyway...

I still have a lot left - not sure what I will ever do with some of it...

Shipping is pretty fair and I can't say for speed because he had an issue with some molds when he did mine so it was a couple of weeks but communication was great and he threw in some extras for the wait. Sorry I didn't get a link up, was furniture shopping with the wife lol

He's really good all around. Be warned though, there is a lot of flash and work to clean them up for use. Most of them are BBi pouches too.

Man I LOVE that comic accurate "ugly" SE sculpt!...where's it from?

And that's my favorite Joe harness, but what bugs me about it is how high it rides...it needs longer straps me thinks...

Nice update BTW :)

I agree Eddie, it sits a wee bit high. Haven't figured out if that will be the final web gear or not. The head is from the Angel Forge
