Custom Con 2013???

Indeed.
I'm going to bring the bulk of my fodder so everyone be prepared to sift through a bunch of crap.
One hurdle down.. I got a tentative approval from the misses.. so that's a start.
Now to try and whittle down the price..

I told my wife about it and she's now looking into bed & breakfasts and things she can do in the area so we can both go.
Direct from the LA Times:
"In retrospect, lighting the match was my big mistake. But I was only trying to retrieve the gerbil," Eric Tomaszewski told bemused doctors in the Severe Burns Unit of Salt Lake City Hospital. Tomaszewski, and his homosexual partner Andrew "Kiki" Farnum, had been admitted for emergency treatment after a felching session had gone seriously wrong.
"I pushed a cardboard tube up his rectum and slipped Raggot, our gerbil, in," he explained. "As usual, Kiki shouted out 'Armageddon', my cue that he'd had enough. I tried to retrieve Raggot but he wouldn't come out again,so I peered into the tube and struck a match, thinking the light might attract him."
At a hushed press conference, a hospital spokesman described what happened next. "The match ignited a pocket of intestinal gas and a flame shot out the tubing, igniting Mr Tomaszewski's hair and severely burning his face. It also set fire to the gerbil's fur and whiskers which in turn ignited a larger pocket of gas further up the intestine, propelling the rodent out like a cannonball."
Tomaszewski suffered second degree burns and a broken nose from the impact of the gerbil, while Farnum suffered first and second degree burns to his anus and lower intestinal tract.
TL; DR - cardboard tube, rectum, gerbil...ARMAGEDDON, lit match gas explosion burns and a broken nose.
TL;DR - Eddie's idea of a great Friday night.
EDIT - yeah it's fake but I remember listening to this one one of the syndicated morning radio shows...

I'm just a bystander here so don't take this as fact or anything but I've talked with Obi about making a "official press release" which will basically cover all the necessary details like Hotel, times, events etc etc. He's currently working on that.
Therefore, I say we should wait until that is ready and then we start pimping it out to other sites etc. That's just my thoughts anyway. Obi is the one running this gig

workshops, customizing, contests, "Heroic Quest" intro/Q&A, raffles, "Heroic Quest" game. Lunch and dinner breaks somewhere in there...
Saturday - 9am open
more of the same/above. There will be prizes during and after the Heroic Quest games, based on the game itself. Players will be rewarded based on gameplay and completion of game! You will not however, know what will trigger the rewards! How's that for a twist?

Tear-down, etc will be around 3-4pm officially. (Hulk sad

This is so damn awesome.
We will try to add content to this thread every weekend to show some of the stuff we are working on. Feel free to use any of it in your press releases.
These are a few sculpts we have, that were made to be used as army builders for the monsters. The skeleton will come in the coffin headless (as we have quite a few different monster skulls that can be used with him). This con is about participation and customizing, so a few will be used as participation event prizes and some can be purchased at the con, many will be customized and used in play. When the pre-registration information goes up, we will offer these in advance to anyone pre-registering who wishes to get one early to finish and bring for use in the game or to show off. The pre-register sets might include special effects, like translucent glow effect.....we will keep you posted on the progression.

Once it gets finished, we'll have a "official" news thread for it that we can show off content for the con. We can re-post stuff in that thread. I will be directing other sites to that thread when it's ready.
We'll still keep this thread alive for basic discussions until then and for the history of the Con as well.
Man! That is a seriously great job on the skeleton and the casket. Can't wait to see it in person.
I just put in for my time off. I just have to finish the 'honey do' list my wife has for me and I'm good to go.

that's cool. I'll meet up with ya early Friday afternoon than. I'll probably come up fairly early in day. Wife will probably swing over after work.
