A few days ago it occurred to me that the Shock Trooper would look good in olive drab, so i gave it a shot. Wish i could have kept the Cobra sleeve insignia, but those are the breaks. I also learned that I'm not gonna be cutting anymore shoulder and elbow pegs just to get the joint piece to not scrape.

I know there are some that thought the ST could pull off as SWAT, well i see this as vindication of the idea.

I think a drop-down would be nice, if a good one becomes available.

And it's nice to know that if a slight male or female body come out that a female chopper pilot will be possible.

Very cool, I have never seen one of these figures in a store. The only ones I ever see are jungle vipers and those stupid white Destros.

Yup. Taped or glue-masked any parts i didn't want to have green. I did a base coat of Krylon Fusion brown that turned out to be unnecessary, as the Camouflage line uses Fusion formulation for plastics.

Yeah, gonna need to grab at least one more so I've got two pilots, and i may just do a squad of greenies.

That's tight KT!!

the holster is a nice addition. Don't understand why they didn't have one with everything else they come with.

You know out of all the guns i have the one that fits that holster the best is the ST stun gun?

The drop down definitely needs a leg tie down added to it.

I've always had a problem with spray paint staying gummy/tacky on the lower legs and arms. Did you prime the entire figure first?

It got an accidental coat of primer, but it came out of a can, as well. I really think it comes down to the individual paints. The Fusion Hammered texture paint does not like the soft plastic at all, but brown seems to do alright.

Sometimes they just have to cure. *shrugs*

S.E. Mich :(
looks awesome!...perfect base for a pilot...think i'd like to see it exactly like you did it, but also with the vest part painted to match with maybe some black highlights...

looks really good with the head and gear in the 3rd pic...

did you scrap the dye job idea?

There was no way i was gonna achieve that color with dye. If it was black on the original ST it's black on there, so knees, elbows and armpits, though i do think green highlights on the vest would be cool. The next one i think will have that, replace the grey with olive drab.

I wanted to do the old two-tone flight cloves, but didn't see the point as the paint would just come off when you crammed a cyclic or collective control in them.

This is a no-brainer for a PoC Bullhorn or Shockwave.

I think the Copperhead cloves would work better for those.

They're fine for driving/flying/motorcycle riding. At least LBC Cobra Courier thinks so.

This IS the off-black one. Off-black to Bbi is an odd green.

hmm, thats wierd. I do remember a few years back the bbi little birds invaded my local TRU in CA and they were all the off-black, and not the OD. I wish now that I picked a few up...

When you get them side by side the OD, off-black and black all look different. The flash really plays up the green.

To the best of my knowledge, the MD 500 TOW Defender came in OD (1st) and Black (2nd), and the MH-6 Little Bird came only in Off-Black (or fresh paint).

The OH-58D was the same, first series was lived in OD and the snd was a fresh paint job green.

That is awesome!!! Now you've got me thinking about painting my LAV commander O.D. to help set him apart from the rest.

I like that female head you put on there, give her one of those blue Scarlett flight helmets (re-colored) and it's a cinch.

I'm wondering if that helmet would fit on Lady Jaye's head?

Meh, not really a fan of SWAT.

Ever since they became a tool of Orwellian people like Obama.

Check out the pussy SWAT team marching in Stalinois during a Tea Party demonstration.

Please don't get me wrong, I like your customs and think they are fantastic. I just cannot stand SWAT for some reason.

They do have their benefits tho, like when LAPD SWAT killed those two bankrobber assholes who were shooting up Hollywood, CA.

Well, Mr. I-Cannae-Read, this is clearly a Shock Trooper in olive drab, not a SWAT officer. The SWAT team photo was to show those of the inclination to make SWAT customs that SWAT does in fact wear OD coveralls (they may be flight suits, too), and not just black, blue or Gym Rat camouflage.
