yeah he's fun. But I think I've been having more fun with krillin tbh lol.
I always come up with ideas for photos for my figs when I'm at work but by the time I have time (usually on sundays) I forget 'em.
I should make a note on my phone.
Wish I'd gotten one (or more) of those little trees at walmart. When I decided I should get one, they were all gone! I've never seen those sell out before. They even had a pack with like 5 or 6.

The one on top of the blue container? If so then that's a dragonhawk not a black hawk or a tomahawk which are huge.
I think they had aneurisms because even by Hasbro's incredibly low standards it was a pile of fucking shit.

That sentence bears little meaning and does not give any us any idea of what is wrong with it. It was a toy not a fragile, expensive, pre-built collectors model and therefore should never have been held or compared to that expectation. The problem with it was the same problem that all ROC and Retaliation vehicles of that class had. They were far too expensive for what people were getting. They were only really worth getting if they were on sale or clearance. However, toy/model Nazis who have to have everything be as realistic as possible don't have any business looking towards Hasbro and the G.I Joe franchise for realism. Some of the action figures are pretty much the only thing worth getting if that's the case.
If you want to make an argument against the Dragonhawk, the only fair "standards" to make comparisons with are things like the helicopters by M&C toys and Chap Mei. If that were the case you can at least make a case that the World Peace Keepers line has better toy helicopters at a better price.
Comparing the Dragonhawk with realistic scaled helicopters by 21st Century Toys or BBI is completely unfair because they were made for two different markets and peoples.

Hasbro would do well to mimic M&C. They've been outstripping Hasbro's vehicles for years. Simple, (mostly) correctly proportioned and "realistic enough". I don't have a problem with "fantasy" vehicles when they're A: designed well, and B: they're believably scaled.
Look at that scale on that piece of crap. Look at the design. Trash.
I won't get into the swell designs that were in Resolute and Renegades, as even if they did do them they'd screw up the proportions and festoon it with springloaded missile launchers.
You do realize where you're at right? Blaming Hasbro for their inadequacies is pretty much the whole reason the site exists.
How about comparing the Dragonhawk with the Dragonhawk? They were definitely made for the same market and peoples. Guess which bad ass toy was for 2.5" figures but could actually be converted to hold two (2!) 4" figures...
I saw the Sigma 6 Dragonhawk on the shelves in 2007 going for $21.99 at TRU. (I didn't get it because I wasn't collecting GI Joe until the 25th came out and wasn't a customizer at the time so I had no idea what would work with 4" figures). What were the ROC minis going for? $24.99 MSRP? The ROC Dragonhawk looks like something the Sigma 6 Dragonhawk would shit out.
I actually kind of liked the design of the ROC Dragonhawk. But after seeing the one my friend bought in person it was an easy pass. Way too small for my tastes. Yes I own a BBI Blackhawk, Apache, and F-16 but I can appreciate some of Hasbro's efforts from the ROC line. I paid full price for a Steel Crusher (it's even bigger than the ROC mini), a Rhino, and got a Raven on clearance (the sound effects are awesome!). If the ROC Dragonhawk had been about 3 times bigger and still under $30, I would have bought at least one. Everybody was bitching about it because of it's size, regardless of what they collected. The only good thing about it was the parts of Wild Bill you could use for customs.
Did you know that now you can get a new full size Retaliation Tomahawk/Eaglehawk for around $40? I'll get another one of those before I'd ever think about buying a ROC Dragonhawk. I also would have loved to see the Resolute designs in toy form. Well, as long as they were done in a respectable scale.
Hell, they could have released the original GI JOE Dragonfly and it would have been loads better than that ROC abortion.
There's SCALE ACCURACY and then there's COOL SCALE. A fair number of GI JOE vehicles fall under the COOL SCALE, where they're not really accurate, but close enough to 'make sense' and seem to fit in decently with modern military stuff. The original VAMP and Mauler are examples of this.
Where Joe really loses me is when they start putting on ridiculous spring loaded launchers and other crazy things. A tank is cool enough being a tank!

Meh, I liked the ROC Dragonhawk enough. It's nothing great but it's a fucking toy. Leave the spring-loaded nonsense alone, and it's a tiny chopper with a decent Wild Bill who, for once, has a normal-human-sized head. It did need to be about 25% bigger, though.
That's no excuse, especially when PTE are even more basic toys, yet ones that don't suck.
So basically the big issue with the Dragonhawk is that it was too small. Personally I did not hate the design, I thought it looked good. I guess I have a tendency to lump the Dragonhawk in with Joe vehicles like the Skyhawk/Ghosthawk and Firebat because they were all particularly small. However I'd say a lot of my satisfaction with the Dragonhawk comes from the fact that I got it at TJ Maxx for much cheaper than the retail price, and it also came with a figure of Wild Bill that looks much nicer than almost every other version of him.
Well there's definitely no point in getting a Dragonhawk now. The retail price was way too much for it and the average price online today would be still be too much. Personally I wouldn't pay $40 for the "Eaglehawk". It's definitely a neat remake of the old classic vehicle, but there are some details that were gimped. My primary issues with it are the machine guns that can't pivot, and I would have preferred some back pegs to keep the figures in place in the seats. However, considering that figures these days have to come in so many different proportions and heights that may have been a problem that would have kept some figures from being able to be seated at all. I'd like to get one but I'm running out of shelf space and I already got two Power Team Elite Black Hawks that my sister bought on JCPenny's website for $12 a while back. If I find it on sale for half the price I'll definitely pick it up.
Personally, I think almost all G.I. Joe brand vehicles are too expensive, and I try to not buy them unless they're on sale. The same has definitely become true of their action figures. I also think it is time you guys gave up on Hasbro reaching your expectations. That's not to say you should "stop bitching and enjoy it", an attitude that many folks on Hiss Tank and in the Joe fan community in general have used to be apologists for Hasbro's mediocre or down right ass garbage performance while at the same time encouraging Hasbro to make figures that are worse than the last for more money. All I'm saying is that the Dragonhawk is a little underrated and it's hilarious to see you guys freak out at the mentioning of it.
That said, the market should not eat up crap and encourage manufacturers to keep producing crap for a higher price. Hasbro needs to take a hit to their sales, then think about how they're going to introduce new and better products at better prices. If they can't, then they deserve to go out of business and liquidate the empire of assets they have, and a new company should pick up the ball and try to meet the market's demand. If somethings not good enough for you, then please by all means don't buy it.

Ah, just imagine if M&C made that thing. No spring-loaded faggotry and actual working treads. And to add insult to injury it would come with 2 figures, accessories and cost 25 or 30 bucks.
It would be hilarious if M&C toys got away with doing that.
