Here is the link for pictures of my 10 ft. wide diorama showing an UFO crashsite near a village. The UFO in fact is a Phantom of the GI Joe series which I had bought broken and repaired. The civil cars are mainly die-cast models from Burago, Maisto and others, some of them heavily customized. The diorama shows more than 100 action figures. As you will see in the pictures the diorama is not ment to be completely serious. The alien being carried away is a figure from the 1990 Matchbox series Connectors and the Robocop close to the police car is from the 1995 Toy Island series.

Man! You have some serious action going on with that diorama! I love the alien on the stretcher. That was great! How many figures are on that? It is loaded!

Very nice, and as mb said, lots of action. I saw the pics of your night raven launch platform(?) can we see pics of that? Also, would you be willing to post some pics of the estrela night raven, I've never seen pictures showcasing one, I've only seen them in backgrounds or very small and not detailed.

The night raven from Estrela is exactly equal to the one fabcricated in the US. The best pictures you can find on yoejoe.com. I will post some pictures but currently the Night Raven is packed away because for some time now I am working on a diorama Jurassic Park. With respect to the launch platform I did not make one for the Night Raven but for Stellar Stiletto and one for the Space Shuttle. The respective links are here:

and here:

In fact I have approximately 2.600 action figures of very different series and manufacturers. My experience is that you get the best large dioramas by not sticking to one toy manufacturer only.

Thanks anyway for your encurraging comments.

Very nice job on the launcher for the crusader space shuttle, figured it was for the night raven since thats what you had on it. What did you make it put of? Also, there is no difference in color between the U.S. and estrela night raven? And another thing, does it say hasbro pawtucket RI for the copyright stamp, or is it estrela like the figures are? Thanks so much and keep up the good work!

I think I understood somesthing wrong: I unerstood that "launcher" would have to be some vehicle or somesthing movable. The Naight Raven was in a fixed buildung which I understood as some kind of hangar or garage. The Noght raven as well as almost all Brazilian GI Joe vehicles show Hasbro Pawtucket as copyright, not Estrela. I think that Estrela manufactured only some variations of figures, not of vehicles. But that was in the 80s, before I came here. Today Estrela does not manufacture or develop anything anymore.

Huh, guess you learn something new everyday. I know a lot of the older vehicles said estrela on them, as does the conquest x-30, so I just assumed they all had those marknigs. As for the fiugres, all of them were diffeent(many similar though) to the U.S. markings, except for rampage, who was a mail away figure here. This is something that not amny people know, which is that all the U.S. tiger force figures(or atleast most of them) were made by estrela in brazil. The vehicles for the most part look the same as the U.S. counterparts(I'm assuming you don't have U.S. ones to compare most of them to ?) but use a slightly lower quality plastic(from what I've been told and know about the figures I own) and slightly different shades of color with the plastic. So where did you live before you moved to brazil?

I am a born German and lived north of Frankfurt. In reason of an interesting job offer I moved to Brazil on a work contract for four years in 1989. Then I married and got two sons. Today I am still here, but working on my own account as tax advisor and independent auditor. I started with model building and collecting at scale 1:18 in 1997.

I have to correct somesthing. I have just spoken to another collector. Estrela indeed manufactured GI Joe vehicles but without changes. The inscription on a Hiss 2 I have e.g. reads as follows:
ESTRELA S.A.
c 1989 HASBRO INC.
PAWTUCKET, R.I. 02862
ALL RIGHTS RESVERED

COOL info! Thanks for the update! Do you happen to know what the "S.A." stands for? If there is anybody who you know who is looking to sell estrela stuff, please send them my way(I can give you my email if needed), that would be much appreciated :) You say you build models, do you still build? I love building plastics.

"S.A." stands for "Sociedade Anonima" which is a form of incorporation where the capital is represented by shares. With respect to Brazilian GI Joe figures I think it would be difficult to find someone selling to the US because we have a lot of buerocracy in foreign trade and any such sale would be considerd as exportation. Even if the one sends you the figures hidden as gift he would need an overseas bank account to receive your payment because in case of a money transfer to Brazil he would have to explain to the bank the reason for that receipt. Brazil is very buerocratic and as a tax advisor I may say: thanks god. However, most people collecting GI Joe figures are not that fancy. By the way, old and new action figures are much more expensive in Brazil than in the US because the toy market is a cartel in Brazil.
