I may have to watch the next Captain America movie. Although it looks like they want to mimic some of the generic bad guys with assault rifles in the streets look that we saw in Olympus has fallen, at least the trailer doesn't look like it's trying really hard to be the Dark Knight or Dark Knight Rises quite like other films have. Although, it still has hints of it.
I avoided Iron Man 3 and Thor 2 because it kind of seemed like they were trying to make things more gritty and hard boiled for no reason. I guess it's just a trend in Hollywood right now but ever since that one good Batman movie everything has to be dark or pretend to have a dark story full of drama and conflict and it's getting annoying! Even movie titles are arbitrarily incorporating this idea into their titles! So far there has been Thor the Dark World, Star Trek Into the Darkness, or Transformers Dark of the Moon. I bet the next Star Wars film that Disney makes will be called Episode 7 A New Hopeless Dark Void of Despair and Melodrama.
Thankfully the next Captain America movie doesn't have the word dark in the title, but since we all know who Winter Soldier is suppose to be and that his identity will probably be revealed, I'm certain there is going to be some whining and crying on the side of Cap. Here's to hoping he doesn't act like a crying pussy.
