I still don't like that scene in Return of the Jedi. I have to skip it or walk out of the room. Everyone bitches about the fucking teddy bears, but I personally detest horrific stripper murder.

Behind a camera watching you!
Apparently I';m still collecting. I broke down & bought an X wing (one of the things I always wanted but never had.) for clearance at Toy R US I figured $40 is cheaper than whatever price they release it at next time.

I really have no need for my SW stuff. Except my Ewoks...

I really should post what I've got. Nothing special though... not anything you cannot still find anyhow. But I have a connection where I can pretty much get anything SW. It's jsut a matter of how much it'll cost. :/

But your guy and eBay have the same concept. Anything you want, depending on the price you're willing to pay.

But there is no shipping [at least for me] and no third guy taking out a percentage--no need to hike the price way up. I can go to him, grab what I want with my hands, talk him down on price, and leave with the items same day.

my toy r us hides large item in the backroom when there is a real sale. So I,m just thankfull I got it at any lower price. Or else I would have passed on it

Wow! My TRU has too many to hide in the backroom. I think they have maybe 50.
It really is a nice vehicle. I need a couple more for my pilots. I'm hoping they go down to $10-$15 and linger on the shelf long enough for me to get them.

Nice dio with the pilots!

I am still ready to strangle someone at Hasbro over the horrible distribution of The Black series.

I lucked out and found a 6 inch Stormtrooper for 18 dollars on TRU.com yesterday, but as soon as I placed the order, I got an email saying the thing was BACKORDERED.

Hasbro is falling to Mattel levels of awfulness regarding this "we will make 5 Stormtroopers, and get back to you later" kind of attitude.

But then again, I cannot fault Hasbro entirely.

I read that the Disney people are about to snake the entire Star Wars franchise away from Hasbro.

If that is true, then Disney is a bunch of dicks.

It's not Hasbro's fault that the Phantom Menace and other crap Prequel movies sucked, as was also the case with the characters and vehicles that were "inspired" for the film.

Jar Jar Binks.

Had no idea Disney was going to yank the carpet out from under Hasbro. Would they do the same for the Marvel lines?

Hasbro has until at least 2017 with the SW franchise. I don't see why Disney would pull it from hasbro anyways. They obviously know what they are doing in the toy world. The Star Wars line has been going well for them for close to 20 years now.

That's just fanboys speculating.

The stormtrooper is in the latest wave, along with Boba Fett. If that's not listening to the fans, I dont know what is. Are you saying hasbro doesn't have a clue and Mattel does? If so, that's pretty funny, cause you go to a Mattel based toy forum and they say the exact opposite, lol... again fanboyism at its best.

You misunderstand.

I am not interested in the scattershot distribution practices of Hasbro with "The Black" line.

"The Black" has been intermittently scattered ever since it's inception, and this latest wave is no different than the others.

This is why I used the Mattel reference, since it is a common theme for the company to have odd distribution practices of great items.

The 200X MOTU line is a fair line to compare to The Black because both lines have the same common problem:

Plenty of demand, but oddball supply.

I gotcha and agree and the Black line does remind me of the 200X line, only on a smaller level.. I remember walking into a TRU and there was a 6 ft. wall of He-Men and Man-at-Arms, lol.. and one Skeletor, or one Beast man.

It is their fault they keep making them. Sure, you might be obligated during the movie cycle to produce figures for that crap, but not anymore.

From the time after ROTS was out, until the near end of The Clone Wars show, Hasbro was obligated to produce a larger number of PT figures and vehicles than it was OT. This was something handed down from Lucasfilm directly.

I think most of the speculation over the SW license getting yanked is the fact that Disney already has existing deals with Mattel for their movie properties like "Cars" and "Toy Story". So people assume that Matty will eventually end up with SW and Marvel too. If so, that's the day I quit collecting. Hasbro has it's problems, but they are nowhere nearly as dysfunctional as mattel.

But again, it's all assumptions as to where all this ends up. Quite frankly, as a person with a business and marketing background, I find it all very interesting. As a toy collector, I really couldn't care less. If they woke up tomorrow and stopped making SW figures forever, I think I'd be ok with that. I have more than I could ever look at, play with, display, give to my kids, customize, or collect the dust in my storage unit.

I'm not sure why I buy anything new, and now that the vintage collection stuff is dead, I guess I don't. I buy a few 6" figures and an occasional 4" when they come out with a new sculpt or a figure without a t-crotch, but that's about it. I'm really winding down my SW collection, not due to lack of interest, but just due to being satisfied that my collection really doesn't have any major holes. My friends and relatives already look at me with a mixture of amazement and horror when they see what I have on display, and what they don't know is that's just the tip of the iceberg. You ask yourself, what would I do with more? When is enough, enough?

Hasbro has lost me for good after the crap that is the 6" Speeder bike. It could have been amazing, but the use of the soft plastic and complete laziness (a 3 3/4" gun on a 6" figure?!?) of not reproducing last year's perfect mold is the line for me. All I wanted was ANH's original 5 in 6" and now I'm not sure I will even bother. With the reports of Joe's 50th being plagued with the same crappy plastic shows they have given up. Some collector's line Hasbro. Double the price for something that is less than double the size and the materials used are garbage. Kiss my ass.

Looks like I will intentionally seek out the KO or Takara versions of MP Transformers from here on out.

To be fair, those are more fun than any SW stuff anyway ;) The bulk of my toy collecting is now MP and 3P transformers.

SW = nothing but repaints, 5 POA garbage, and questionable 6" stuff
Joe = all but gone
MOTU = all but gone (and jumped the shark long ago)
DCUC = really gone
MU = two waves a year if we're lucky, barely counts as still alive
ML = they show good stuff, cancel half of it before it's ever produced, and then scattershot the rest. If it's not a movie-tie-in figure, your odds of getting it are usually slim.

That leaves TF, and most of hasbro's output are cheap fiddly things with bayformer bug faces and chicken legs. Thus Takara and the talented 3P companies are the only recourse for a TF fan.

To be honest, after 6-8 years of collecting like everything is going out of style, things have begun to.... go out of style. So I collected what I did, and I'm kinda glad it's winding down. My bank account is glad, my storage unit is glad, and I'm sure my wife is glad. Now I need to get to the hundreds of customs that I bought all those extras for...
