Has anyone else tried using the lower torso , arms and legs from the Our War figures with the upper body from a BBI figure? It was pretty simple and the results were very promising.

I did have to swap the shoulder joints from the Our War Figure with those from the BBI figure to make it work. the BBI shoulders are a little wider so i Dremeled them until they were the same thickness as the Our War shoulder joint and they popped right in. I also had to widen and deepen the hole(calm down Eddie:) ) where the lower torso plugs into the upper torso. The BBI Head can remain unchanged , but fr al intents an purposes of variety I am using the neck post from Retaliation Storm Shadow with the alternate head from the "Ultimate"Retaliation Duke for these pics. Just some food for thought.

Right on, first time I saw that done.

The flight vest looks a bit bulky for the OW parts, but with the appropriate head and helmet those are EASY army rotary wing crews. Might have to open up my OW stuff after all.

I wish I had a Life Line. I'd do one for his pacifist bitch-ass.

The flight vest was sitting there when the idea hit me so naturally it became the test piece. I plan to try using different part combos. He has remarkable range of motion and poses very naturally despite the bulky vest.

In never realized how much this head sculpt was actually squinting until I began to paint it. You might have to zoom in to see the actual pupil/iris area in contrast to the white of his eyes.

[Edit] Finally able to upload the pic to Photobucket and make it right side up (previous image was uploaded with my phone):

That's a great paint job and a good looking head sculpt, where is that from?

I'd have given up on that long ago. It's looking great.

Thanks, KT!

It's the Avengers Ultimate Thor head sculpt with the hair removed. I sculpted the do-rag(sp?) and hair coming out from underneath it. I actually sculpted it a couple of years ago, and even had it casted, but just now got around to putting it to use. That's mainly b/c I never had the parts selection that I really wanted for him, but thanks to Bbi's new figs and the realization of what I could use for the vest, it's now possible.

Now, I just have to settle on which colors and camo pattern I'm going to use...

I still want a Flint. Even if I have to do mad repainting, and even if there ain't a good shotgun for him.

I've got a modded Flint in the works, too. My main missing piece is up to Jesse, though... I've got all the other pieces ready for my ultimate Flint. And Duke. And Chef.

I'm a cobra kinda guy when it comes to gijoe. Never really like the beret on flint. Started on my viper officers, kinda making them POC style. Need silver paint for the belt, goggles, and gunmetal for the back of the head.

I've dull coated the arms since I took this. The finish matches the hands perfectly too! Wish I had red cobra waterslides for the arm patches..

Oh no, what's that?

Here is the original contest.
Untitled document

A vote to see which custom figure would get a limited run.

The offer was extended to OG13 members, But the part that said these will take a while to make was not clear or it was not acknowledged. So now you have a few people screamming bloody murder because they can't get home made custom figures within 3 weeks.:crying:

& here is the saga on OG13.

I just think casters need to stop falling for those things. They never go well, and as much as I'm for them doing projects for the love of the hobby... Unless they're making a fuckton of money, it can't be worth the hassle of dealing with the people.

Granted, if you take folk's money, I guess they have room to gripe. But those same people wouldn't pay AFTER the fact, and casters can't always foot the bill up front. Just never seems like a good idea. :(

I got ahold of him. He probably didn't see my last message because it was short. I didn't realize he had those bigger commissions. Also, if he's got shit going on that takes priority. I just kept getting "next week" replies and was looking for something more accurate. It's all good, just ready to start on the customs finally. :)

Idk y'all's homeboy, but he's made/starting to make a bad name for himself over at HT. A custom thread over there turned into a "he fucked me" thread when OP mentioned he got cast parts from him..idk if anyone here was aware of it,I'm just sayin. I've had one dealing with him, that resulted in a paypal judgement, and me getting a refund through them. Based on my one&only experience with him,I won't deal with him again. what y'all do is y'all tho.

I'm waiting on some stuff currently, but I've always gotten my orders. Takes some prodding sometimes, but at least you get it.

I'm not trying to call him out,or say he's not reputable. Others are tho,and that's usually a bad sign. It's impossible to please everyone,so who knows? I personally won't be dealing with him,if it's warranted or not, it is what it is...

I personally had some really good experiences the first few times that I ordered from Jesse. The last few times were a different story. Unfortunately, I don't order from him or Aly anymore.

Been a while, but after some 'real life' stuff, I'm back at my real job:

Also got Quinlan 'Korto' Vos still in the works and recently got commissioned to make a fifth Jedi Master Ven Zallow. And a sixth. I need to talk to Dave about casting a kit of him if this goes on any longer  And I need to talk to my boss at my other job to give me more days off (paid in full).

I'm surprised that thread is even still open. HT is full of impatient crybabies, and I thought they banned any and all talk of casters? :whatever:

I've got a good deal of parts sent off to Jesse for casting that I sent sometime after JoeCon. He's given me the usual "I'll ship it next week" thing a lot of people get, and while he does take for buttfuck ever sometimes, I've always gotten my parts eventually. He's still nowhere near the reputation of Alyosha or SlayerDave. I still have at least $70 or more of shit from Dave I'll likely never see.

I'm still waiting for my Pythona.

I don't expect to see it, mind you, nor do I care now. I'm being realistic, and it's more or less water under the bridge.

I think I've bought most of the parts again from AngelForge anyway when they became available.

I will say, though, Dave has never been an ass to me, nor has Jesse, like some folks have claimed Alyosha does. Not that Aly has, to me, it's just the reputation. If folks are having personal or health issues, I'd rather never see the money or parts if it means making their situation worse, though.

Angel forge is awesome! I've ordered from them/him,and got stuff in days!! My tofujessie experience was ordering "in stock" parts off his site. No special order, stuff was marked in stock...I'm fully aware of time, and waiting involved in getting custom cast parts, but in stock? I hit the paypal dispute button two days before the deadline to file after seeing the thread I posted, and PMing them to get more elaboration.

Most of us are getting old,Heath issues come with age,it happens. I have dental surgery in a week, cause I came up poor, and my parents couldn't afford the proper dental care, and beyond that I kept pushing stuff back due to my work schedule.

Personal problems?yeah, I got those too! Been separated from the wife, we fight like 2 pitbulls, then fuck like minks. Very volatile relationship! But I'm into that shit it seems,so it's all good:D Then I got children randomly spread throughout the country, with their respective mothers trying to soak me for every penny I got...shit happens! I still try to follow through with my obligations...an email warning of delays,a refund, and a plausible excuse..any of those things are cool when life happens. Disappearing,or ignoring emails is a bitch move IMO. Once again,I don't know dude. I can't judge a man off one transaction, and the good stories out way the bad with that individual. When I started in this hobby I was told he was the best..
