Anybody still collecting SW on here?

To be fair, those are more fun than any SW stuff anyway ;) The bulk of my toy collecting is now MP and 3P transformers.

SW = nothing but repaints, 5 POA garbage, and questionable 6" stuff
Joe = all but gone
MOTU = all but gone (and jumped the shark long ago)
DCUC = really gone
MU = two waves a year if we're lucky, barely counts as still alive
ML = they show good stuff, cancel half of it before it's ever produced, and then scattershot the rest. If it's not a movie-tie-in figure, your odds of getting it are usually slim.

That leaves TF, and most of hasbro's output are cheap fiddly things with bayformer bug faces and chicken legs. Thus Takara and the talented 3P companies are the only recourse for a TF fan.

To be honest, after 6-8 years of collecting like everything is going out of style, things have begun to.... go out of style. So I collected what I did, and I'm kinda glad it's winding down. My bank account is glad, my storage unit is glad, and I'm sure my wife is glad. Now I need to get to the hundreds of customs that I bought all those extras for...

Agreed. MP-1 (20th Prime for $20 at WM clearance) started this whole collecting fiasco, so it is only fitting that the MP's end it. I've been out of the game for exactly a year and then Prowl came to TRU to suck me back in to give SW one more chance with the Speeder. Never again, but thank you Prowl for reminding me how amazing MPs are.

If the 2 KO's arrive and are as good as the reviews make them out to be, then I will occasionally pick up some form of the MPs as needed to scratch that itch. It's sad I had to pick up a KO MP-10 to begin with since Hasbro and TRU could not produce enough to move it beyond scalper bait.

Any news on that Hero Series X-Wing? It's a bit too long, but a proper 1:18ish (not that Joescale crap most SW-collecting mouthbreathers call "in scale" with the figures) has me interested.

It would appear there's no cockpit and the s-foils don't even open. If it's not some kind of glider, wire-guided or rocket-powered flying "toy" then what the fuck is the point?

EDIT:

Turns out it's available. No cockpit, opening s-foils and 31" makes it over the line for believable 1:18 functionality.

I saw someone over on one of the SW boards has started working on one, opened up the cockpit and started weathering it. No way to unfuck the s-foil situation, but it may not be a total loss.

The Endor set was on TRU.com for $100. All the figures in it look like crap. The AT-ST is the only useful part, but not for $100.

I hate the muddy feet. While it might be somewhat screen accurate, it's so pronounced that when I look at it, the brown feet is all I see. I'm glad I picked up the new mold when it was first released, i.e. when it was clean.

Yup. picked up two @ $15. Dunno that I'll ever use the one, but maybe someone that wants a clean one will come along and make it worth my while.

Well, it doesn't look like mud, more like the AT-ST's have been prancing around in chocolate pudding. It wouldn't look too bad with streaks or blotches of mud, but these look oddly dipped.

But I have enough of these for variety's sake... a couple of clean ones, a pudding version from the previous muddy release, and a couple of the snow hoth versions. I need a new one like a hole in the head, so I'm skipping this one. I haven't even bothered to check if the ewoks are new (molds or characters), but I have so many of the furry bastards that I doubt I'd notice either way.

However, I do like the new-ish mold in all it's releases, a big improvement over the previous generation.

Yeah... No way I'd even consider that TRU pack. I didn't even look to see if the feet were the same as the Kmart red clay pudding one I have. My original clean one was painted green years ago.

In hand I have because I ordered a case. Seems the only sure why to get anything these days. I see mostly Wv 1 at retail which is sad and disappointing, especially after Hasbro was supposed to fix their distribution issues.

I had read a report they were spotted as near to me as Indiana, and that was a few weeks ago. Then I was in Florida two weeks ago and checked a few Wal-Marts and Targets thinking SURELY they would have them that far south...and spotted nothing.

Oh, and K, that Torryn Farr is just a re-use of Hoth princess Leia parts, so expect to see another stubby female figure.

Head scale looks larger than Leia's so that's heartening. Aside from that, all that review tells me is that, should I find her at all, I'll need to by a can of brake fluid at the same time.

Saw two cases of the new wave on the pegs at the TRU.
Toryn Farr looks good, but Dageobah Luke doesn't thrill me at all.
The Snowtrooper Officer is nice, though.

This wave has been found at retail in the US since around the Target reset date.

Well, Germany at least got them at the same time as some parts of the U.S.

I was surprised to see the wave over here that soon.
On my Business trip today I went to another TRU and picked up two Toryn Farrs and one Dagobah Luke.
Combine the two and you get an awesome female Rebel.
Lots of Bastila Shans on the pegs, too.
Nobody knows that character over here so it will be easy to find her.

Met a TRU employee today who is a huge Star Wars fan and collects figures. We exchanged contact data...

Received four Snowtrooper Commanders from Dorksidetoys a little while ago. I like him a lot, despite its shortcomings, which can easily be fixed.

And I've got the 6" bug too, but that's inappropriate here, I guess :)

Nope, not inappropriate. I just started collecting the 6" (thanks to a certain person here that got me addicted  )

Waiting for the Chewbacca wave myself. I just got the SDCC Jabba and Biker Scout in last week.

That SDCC Jabba looks so great in the box that I don't think I will remove him.

I think I want to get rid of my SW collection (not many anyways). I have more interest in Acid Rain, Marvel Universe/Infinite, and Hiya Aliens. All 1:18th btw in case you might have some marvel to offer.

SO... I'll be adding my SW figures up for sale/trade.

Partly undress Toryn and give her Dagobah Luke's gunbelt.
There, you've got yourself a cool female Rebel.
