ZICA has been working with Biff Bang Pow to produce some figures for the Six Million Dollar Man and plan on producing Captain Action figures.

From their first prototype images of Captain Action, it appeared they were going to do these in "retro" styling similar to SM$M. However, they have teamed up with the ever popular Boss Fight Studios to produce these in modern styling and increased the size from 3 3/4" to 4". Hopefully this trend continues on.

From their forums:
Zica:
Thought I would post the new images here just to be official.

The Captain Action sculpt is all new and has replaced the previous one shown before. The line will now have a modern design and the scale has been changed from 3.75" to 4" which will help it fit in better with the current crop of modern action figures.

Some quotes from Craig about how this line is progressing.
The game plan for now is to try the Kickstarter approach first which will probably happen toward the end of August.

I'm waiting on the concept art for Action Boy to be finished and approved. Once that's done I can show the concept art for him, Dr. Evil and Lady Action. Boss Fight is working on getting me an actual physical prototype of the Captain Action figure which will hopefully be on display at the NYCC.

I really love that ZICA has switched from retro to modern. Its too bad they didn't do the 6M$M in modern. He did say that his license for that would run out, so 6M$M are done for them.

Looks like we may have a new Kickstarter soon though for Captain Action. They did just sucessfully complete a KS for some retro 4.5" super heroes but just barely. Based on other KS though for more modern 4" figures I think this would do a lot better.

It looks like the Kickstarter for Captain Action will be in September and should just be for Captain Action. Craig is waiting to get the finished prototype before starting the Kickstarter.
Action boy, Dr. Evil and Lady Action will probably be stretch goals along with the Silver Streak car.

Concept art for the next 3 figures.

The Kickstarter order will be Captain Action for the main funding. The stretch goals will be Dr. Evil, Action boy, Lady Action, then the Silver Streak.

No word on the funding targets yet. I doubt we will hear that until it goes live.

I have the 12'' Cap and Dr Evil and they're awesome. You can tell there's a real love of the character/history. I was really looking forward to a Lady Action too but the only one they're releasing now is a ''Deluxe Collectible'' at around $100, which is just too much for me.

I also really dislike Kickstarter toys. I just want to be able to go into a store and buy what I want, when I want.

Agreed, but to play devil's advocate a lot of these would never make it to b&m retail.

True. And it saddens me to see how many CA figures/costumes were left shelfwarming in TRU. I just wish there was a way to achieve both. Maybe they'll get picked up like the Warpo LoC figures. I hope so.

Yeah, except most toys that should be in stores aren't. Even the ones that should be. All I ever see is 8000 types of Iron Man or Spider-Man.

I love Kickstarter toys. They are the toys that have very low profit margins but have the creators who have a passion about bringing great items to their fans.

Without Kickstarter, retailers wouldn't have picked up LoC or IamElemental figures in the first place.

That is very true. I don't think I've seen a single Marvel Infinite figure on shelves and we never got the last 2 waves of MU.

I love the IDEA behind Kickstarter toys, as it's an awesome for us, by us kind of thing. It's just it frustrates me as I can never contribute and, therefore, never get any of the lovely toys.

I really wish toy companies in general would do something about arms sticking out to the sides like in that photo. Is it so hard to shave down the inside of the upper torso so the arms can rest closer to the sides?

The bloated look just doesn't look good.

Yeah, I always photograph figures with out-swinging arms in a similar pose, otherwise people tend to think they only have a single shoulder joint like old school Star Wars figures.

Here are the concept art for the rest of the figures in the Kickstarter. These will be stretch goals. The order will be Dr. Evil, Action Boy, Lady Action, and the Silver Streak.

I also confirmed that there will be 2 additional decos of Captain Action that will be revealed during the Kickstarter.
